Boxcar Shorty (boxcarshorty) | 20 comments My Read shelf shows 13 more books than it did yesterday. Anyone else experience something like this?

Things like this seem to happen every few years when GR is working on some changes.
Keep an eye on things, they should get back to normal soon.

Jennifer | 450 comments Yeah, the shelves I have for the HA challenges keep reporting incorrectly. If I click into them the number of books is correct but the number for the shelves are a few short.

message 4: by Jsaa (new)

Jsaa Keep the updates coming. Vigilance

message 5: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9060 comments I haven't experienced anything like that but like Wendy said, GR is probably working on some changes so there will be glitches.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin | 2262 comments Yes, I’m experiencing crap too!! Some reviews won’t even show up 🙄

message 7: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9060 comments I've noticed the last couple of days that pages won't load right, refreshing the page seems to solve it.

message 8: by Marie (new)

Marie | 4029 comments Notifications are not coming through either and that has been going on for about a week. I am only seeing less than half of what I normally see so I know something is wacky. Refreshing has not helped with getting notifications and some stuff I get and some I don't. Day before yesterday I only had half a page updates. The bottom half of the page was empty and it would not load the rest of the page.

message 9: by J. (new)

J. Gowin I'm getting most of my notifications, but several hours late.

message 10: by Char (new)

Char | 17459 comments My notifications are really late...like days late. LOL

Luvtoread (Trying to catch up) | 1944 comments I had to sign in on every notification! Very frustrating. Also, wiped out some comments from my reviews. Hope they can auto-correct these!!

That sucks! I hope they do.

Jsaa Do not take over thread with personal notes. I will have to intervene in place of neglectful mods. Keep only to what is related to main thread!

Mine did the same thing yesterday--I finally memorized my password. Lol.
Most of my notification are not coming through at all, some are late. And I noticed a few of my comments disappearing too. Hopefully it will get back to normal soon :)

Wow Char! That is crazy! I thought it was bad with being hours late, but days.....yikes! Sounds like a repeat of 2020!

That is rough, Luv! This is the first time I had seen this with comments disappearing off reviews. Wow! GR is more glitchy than the past to be performing wipe outs of comments!

I'm having the same problem with the lack of notifications, too, Marie.

I do not see anything objectionable being mentioned in this thread.

You will have to intervene? Not sure what you're talking or what you think you're going to do, but please do not act with that air of authority. You have none here.

When the mods see fit to intervene they will, like now.

Thank you.

Thank you, Char, and all of the hard-working mods. It was getting tense in here and I thought there were new rules I was not privy to!

It is good to know that I am not alone, Kimberly. :) Sometimes when things get glitchy on here I always think it is my computer acting up. lol :)

Marie | 4029 comments I too want to thank all the mods in this group for keeping this horror group in tip top shape and for always being around on here to help. All the members in this group should respect all of you and your dedication to this group. All of you take the time out of your busy schedules to maintain this group and keep it going! Thank you all for making this group the top horror group on this site! 😊

Graeme Rodaughan Unfortunately GR can be really flaky at times. (Sigh) I suspect the code is a miasmic mess that was grown organically over time. Rewriting it would be too expensive, so the site struggles on with every new change breaking something old...

Just my gut feel about it.

Makes sense. It annoys me if these things can be fixed but won't be due to expense. Considering who owns Goodreads, you would think cost wouldn't be an issue.

Luvtoread (Trying to catch up) | 1944 comments Thank you everyone for all your kind support to my GR problems hopefully all will be corrected soon.

It seems whenever they do new downloads to make the system better many unfortunate little annoyances occur but they usually resolve themselves in a few days or more so hopefully all of our minor problems will just disappear!! O:-)

message 28: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9060 comments I use to get my update news when they use to have the help/support group but they got rid of that. Not sure where they post about updates now. It would be nice to know what they are doing, behind the scenes, to cause the glitches.

message 29: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments My notifications were way off last night. It was showing them from 2 years ago and wouldn't load groups

message 30: by J. (new)

J. Gowin At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if I got a fresh notification for the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

Graeme Rodaughan Erin wrote: "Makes sense. It annoys me if these things can be fixed but won't be due to expense. Considering who owns Goodreads, you would think cost wouldn't be an issue...."

Cost is always an issue. The fact that Amazon makes $Billions is partly because they don't spend money without generating profit...

Oh yeah, when the group was closed I remember them mentioning going to a help format like that.

message 36: by Kara (new)

Kara (ladykarasgmailcom) Let's see, my problems with Goodreads, I have a friend request from myself that's been there for almost a month and it won't go away. Today, May 1st, is the first time in 2 weeks that I received anything from the groups I belong to and I got 3 of them from sometime in April. I have asked for help with these, but the only thing I get back is we're working on it. I joined another group on Monday and haven't gotten anything from them. Plus my updates on my books are not always sticking so the next day I have to update my books again. Oh and a new thing I noticed 2 days ago when I added my new books, the next day they wanted to download from Amazon again. I've never had problems like this with Goodreads before. I'm not going to tell them again as it gets me nowhere. Just going to hope they get their act together soon.

message 37: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9060 comments I can only hope they are actually working on fixes but who knows.

message 38: by Kara (new)

Kara (ladykarasgmailcom) I'm back....lol. Goodreads has finally been sending me my group messages. I've been getting at least 6-9 a day, and they have been dated back to approx the first of April, sooner or later I should be up to date and only getting one a day, but who knows.
As for the friend request from myself, it's still on my page and no matter what I try it won't go away.

message 39: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9060 comments At least you have seen some improvement.

message 40: by Kay (new)

Kay Vanantwerpen (kingofthelosingside) | 5 comments Yeah, I've been getting error messages when trying to read reviews all day today.
