Do you want to ask a question about a specific book? Answer questions about specific books. Post suggestions for our group. Etc.

This question was asked by Sophia in another thread. Please help to answer.

Sophia: Does anyone know if the book ‘10 blind dates’ by Ashley Elston is clean?

This question was asked by Amanda in another thread. Please help to answer.

Amanda: Does anyone know if the mythos academy series is clean or not ?? My daughter has shown interest in reading it but none of the reviews I have found have talked about its content. It's Mythos Academy series by Jennifer Estep.

Anna | 40 comments May I request a thread to use to look for books or series for my little sister? Not sure if this is where I should be asking about it but I need suggestions and thought a separate thread would be best.

Absolutely. That is a great suggestion. I have a 10 yo girl and an 8 yo boy myself, but I would NOT let them read what my 14 yo girl is reading. I would love to get suggestions too.

How old is your sister? Should I do a 12 and under thread?

To answer Sophia and Amanda's questions, I recommend going to questions at the (book page?) of whatever book you are worried about and first see if anyone has asked, if not you can ask, and someone who has read the book should answer. Hope this helps!

sumayyah (sumayyaha) This isn't a question or suggestion. Just to say I've been back into reading and I'm so happy about it, I'll try to participate more here. Is this appropriate for this thread? I noticed there weren't really other "free" talking spaces.

sumayyah (sumayyaha) I tested out the "challenges" feature on a test group and I love the idea. I don't know if y'all are aware but on booktube there are often challenge readathons with themes and they have small graphics with places you have put covers for the books you read for the challenge. I think its a cool idea to incorporate in a Goodreads group.

As an example some of the challenges would be "Read a story that features a familiar" or something else related to the author, plot, characters, or even the cover of the book.

I love making graphics for other people and would be very willing to make one for this group's challenges as a month-long read-a-thon to complete the bingo or something like that. If any moderator has any idea what I'm talking about please let me know if we can have these challenges and I would make some bingo charts. I just think it makes reading more fun (than it already is) :)

Did you see our new book club banner and Clean YA icon? Don't they look FANTASTIC!!!

Special thanks to Sumayyah for those and for being our new Group Moderator. Allyson is your other Group Moderator while I take the role of Adult Moderator. Your Group Moderators will be true leaders in this book club (they are teens like many of you), while I take the backseat and create posts and such.

We have also made some other significant changes. Here are just a few:

*Updated the Group Description and Rules
*Made the group PUBLIC (this is huge)
*Reordered the Discussion Boards
*New Reading Challenges and Adventures
*Two BOTM Group Reads (Nominations for August are now open)
- 12 yo and younger (elementary and middle school)
- 13 yo and older (high school and college)

We hope y'all engage a little more, especially as our group continues to grow. We are so happy you are here and trust us to all collectively bring the club clean books.

Happy Reading Everyone!!!

message 17: by Sidney (new)

Sidney | 3 comments I need to read a book for class, the only restrictions is that is must have a minimum of 200pgs (or if its a graphic novel 1000 pgs, or i can read them till they add up to 1000pgs regardless of series).

I have ADHD so it is hard for books to keep my attention, but when they do I can finish them really quickly, due to how fast I prosses information. I tend to read/like fantasy, fiction (of any kind).

Some of the books I have finished are the Harry Potter series (up to book 6), Percy Jackson (the lightning thief series), all of the graphic novels in my school library, The Agony House by Cherie Priest, and books similar to those.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

Hey Sidney - May I ask your age and gender? My daughter is also ADHD and also has problems finishing books. I think I can suggest some books.
