We have Eng, Maths, Sci as compulsory, depending on ur school RE (religious education) is also compulsory, then u choose three other subjects out of a wide range from Art to geo, history, french(or another lang), food tech
You can also 'upgrade' ur science from combined to triple. Triple science is a bit harder but u get separate grades for bio, chem and phys, meaning u have 3 GCSE 's instead of two
