The Reading Streak Challenge

Hello to all the enthusiastic bookworms!! This challenge is in celebration ​of reaching 500 members in the group!
Congratulations everyone and we hope you have fun!

🔷 This will run on a 15 day basis, which means after every 15 days there'll be a winner.

🔷 In this challenge, each participant will have to form a Reading Streak.

🔷 Here's how:-

1. Did you start and finish a book on the same day? Read in just one day? Log it in!- 10 points
2. Did you finish a book you've been reading and started a New book on the same date? Log your progress!- 5 points
3. How many minutes did you read without a break? 15 min? 30 min? Log your progress!- 0.5 point for a min, so for 15 min 7.5 points.
4. Have you read books of same color/genre/author back to back? Log your books!- For 2 reads back to back, 10 points, for 3 reads, 15 points and likewise.
5. Have you read books with same first words/same number of words in title? Log them in!- 5 Points

Extra Point Scoring:-
1. Page Count: 350 pages- 1 point

🔷 Your points will be tracked on the scoreboard and after every 15 days, we'll announce a winner!
🔷 There will be a separate thread for you, where you'll log your progress.
🔷 You can join in anytime, but you must sign up first.
🔷 If you wish to participate, sign up here, you can create your own thread in this folder with the title, "(Your Name) Reading Streaks" or you can ask the Mods to do that.
🔷 The second round starts from 1st May'21 and closes on 15th May'21.

I have a question. So what if the book falls under 2 or more categories, so I add both points and write the total?

1. What do you mean by "how fits? (how does it form the streak). I don't understand what I have to do there.
2. Point 4 and 5 consist on reading a book with the same characteristic consecutively, right?
3. Last question. Are BRs or BOTMs from other groups valid?

1. It means that you need to specify how the books form a reading streak, for example, if you read a book in a day you put the name of the book and specify in "How fits": Read in a day. This is starightforward but in case of streaks 2 and 4, a minimum of 2 books form a streak, so you add two book names and specify in "How fits": Same color/Same genre/ Finished and Started on same day and so on, whatever is applicable.
2. Yeah, the characteristics mentioned in the streak but that should be consecutive reads.
3.No, they aren't. Only this group.

For Streak 3:-

For Streak 4:-

How fits? (How does it form the streak?): Same color/genre/author, in this case same genre and same author.

For Streak 5:-

Date Started: When you started the first book
Date Finished: When you finished the second book
How fits? (How does it form the streak?): Books with same first words/same no, of words, in this case same no. of words( ignoring A/An/The)
Page Count: Total pages of two books.
BOTM/Buddy read link: n/a or link

Important:-
1. For streaks 4 and 5, a minimum of two books are mandatory.
2. In case of streak 5, ignore the articles, A/An/The.
3. In case there are more than 2 books forming a streak of type 4 and 5, follow the format properly.
4. Books finished on and after 15th April and until 30th April are only applicable, books started before 15th April but completed on and after 15th April are applicable.

Hi! I have a question: So we can have a book that fits for multiple streaks or just one? Like, If I read three hours and finish a book and started the second in case of a serie, does it count for streak 2, 3 and 4 or I have to choose a single streak and go for that?

It can count for multiple streaks, but you'll have to update the progress log accordingly, if need arises, you can update for same book forming different streaks separately.

I too have a doubt. Like I started a book and finished it within a day. Which means I did read a lot without a break ( because that's how I tend to usually do). Then can I log the book for streak 1 and 3?
