DISCUSSION Week 2 (chapters 4-18) DON'T LOOK FOR ME

I have so many thoughtsssssss for this week's reading. My book is tabbed to death. My main questions:
1. General thoughts?
2. Who do you think the man is?
3. Do you think Daisy is connected or do you think she's a red herring?

1. My general thoughts: it's really high speed! And very stressful. I had to put the book down in between chapters because I was getting so stressed. I think it's interesting to see how Molly is trying to work through the mystery by playing games with Alice- it's such an interesting concept! I will say though, that there seems to be a good amount of fat phobia in this book and it's unnecessary and it really pulls me out of the scene. It's disappointing because what truly could be a five star read for me is bumped down.

2. I kind of think the man is either the cop or the bartender! The bartender is way too nice...I don't trust that!

3. Totally think Daisy is connected totally think she's Alice's mom.

•im fascinated and cant wait to continue the book!
•I think its gross they had to play up the young blonde. Way cliche.
• I think its dumb they keep highlighting how the mom is waving over her head. Who pinpoints waving?!
•Ive totally been thinking the “Mick” guy stole Daisy’s phone (prob Alice’s mom) and pretended she ran away. Im also curious if he is the sheriff etc. especially if he is going off places.
•Im confused how no one knows about this fence, that sounds huge? Like his property seems big. And she described it as acres? I feel like if Nic made it to the fence before sundown, it would be a location that people who grew up in town would know about.
•I also think its curious the inn keeper denied he knew Daisy. Or why the bar tender mentioned it if he didnt want her to mention it.
•then theres the woman who tipped her off and got her back. Who is she and why is she lying? she either saw the mom OR was fed the information. BUT AGAIN WHY WOULD YOU MENTION HOW SOMEONE WAVED A CAR DOWN?

These people are SO convinced the waving is weird and i just...cannot believe it’s that weird. Like, i wave like that.

Also totally weird how so many people deny knowing Daisy! And the cop is wigging me out how much he looked into the lead for the woman who came forward (Edith? I think is her name?)- like he worked way too quickly and hard to discredit her even though she knows details that weren’t released!!
