The world (view spoiler)[I am not liking the world so far, it seems that women are treated as property. They have to have a "protector" who makes their decisions for them and they can't do something without having their protector with them. I hope we get more explanation on this world and see the treatment of women change. (hide spoiler)]

I also find it weird that she (view spoiler)[just doesn't like Logan because he rejected her all those years ago. Seems pretty immature to me (hide spoiler)]. But other than that, I really like it so far. I quite like Logan. I think he seems sweet.

I haven't been able to post spoilers so far today, but I am 30 chapters in.

Rachel (view spoiler)[I am liking her chapters the best. She has a tough situation. That claiming ceremony didn't exactly go as planned and the commander still got what he wanted with her denying who picked her and asking to be a ward instead. I can't see things going very well when she embarks on trying to find her dad. At first I thought that he was alive too, but right now I am getting the feeling that he really is dead. I'm on the fence about this book right now. I'm not loving it, but not hating it either.

I was liking this at the beginning but now I find it's moving along really slowly. There was so much action at the beginning and now that (view spoiler)[Rachel and Logan are separated, I am getting bored (hide spoiler)]. I was so devastated when the Commander (view spoiler)[killed Oliver (hide spoiler)], but I kind of seen it coming.

I think the story will pick up again once (view spoiler)[Logan gets out of the dungeon. Hurry it up! lol. (hide spoiler)]

I also think Rachel's (view spoiler)[father is dead. I think she will end up finding his body somewhere on her search along with the package. (hide spoiler)]

I seriously hate the commander. (view spoiler)[Someone get that dragon ring off his finger. It's clearly the underlying issue here. (hide spoiler)]

So I finished it. I'm giving it 2.5 - 3 stars.

I think the main reason for my low rating is the world. (view spoiler)[I am so confused. There was no real description of what exactly the Wasteland is. What exactly did her father do as a courier while he was out there (since it seemed everyone was enemies)? Also, why are women so belittled in Baalboden? That was never really explained. (hide spoiler)]

What the heck was with the chapter when (view spoiler)[Logan escaped?! He just happened to have this contraption in his bag that is able to dig a hole in the ground so he can escape underneath the wall? (hide spoiler)]

Urgh and Rachel (view spoiler)[at the very end running towards the cursed one. Did I read something wrong or did she get blazed with fire? How in the heck did she survive that? (hide spoiler)]

LOL sorry for my rant. Initially I was liking this, but now that I have officially finished, I keep thinking of moments that bothered me.

sorry guys, spent the day driving and then at the beach (Tybee Island in eastern Georgia).....I read this book the whole time but couldn't update.

I just...I never connected to the characters...never.
I didn't understand why they weren't talking - JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!! Ugh, all this hiding things and getting mad but not explaining why.

and I completely agree(view spoiler)[ there was just NOT Enough world building. Again, I ended up with a world I didn't care much about and main characters that I didn't understand or (at times) even like.
