hey! So I'm not sure if I'll enter yet because of my study schedule and stuff. Just to know what will your reading schedule be? And when are you planning on starting and finishing the book?

Hi! Our only goal so far is to try and finish before the Netflix show airs (April 28th if I'm not mistaken), but we can define a schedule that fits everybody if everyone's ok with it!
It's a little ambitious perhaps, but I'm fairly confident! (and no pressure for me, if we don't make it, so be it! I rather read together than rush it at all costs)

The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic

This book was great after reading the original trilogy. It's such a gorgeous book I recommend tracking down a physical copy if you can. This does not follow any of the characters you know and love it's just folklore stories for Ravka.

So I'm at ch. 4 actually but I'm already loving it. When I read Six of Crows, it took me some time to feel involved in the story, but this one took hold immediatly (maybe because at this point I'm already familiar with the world). I read more than 100 pages in like 40 minutes XD

I assume you point out the pages read in that time because you are a slow reader? I'm not that used to fantasy and when I start a brand new fantasy book I'm a bit disorientated, but here I picked up a good rhythm from chapter 2 more or less. I haven't read all the correspondent pages for today but I will tomorrow.

I just got to chapter 5. I really like that they just cut to the chase, without wasting time in writing stuff that we won't be interested in. I still don't 100% have that steady connection with the book but I'm definitely liking it

I'm at about chapter ten and it's fascinating. I also like the way useful bits of context and information about the world are put into the narrative without being heavy handed. It's very fluid.

I have completed chapter 5 and it's very interesting! I agree Fabi, that this is an easy read, maybe because we have already read Six of Crows. I like the mystery surrounding Darkling. Am I the only one guessing that Alina will fall for him?

I have completed chapter 10 guys!!! It's a great read, I think the book is fast paced and I understand the Grisha Order better than I did when I read SoC, but still it's not heavy on details, it's fluid as Fabitha mentioned, but I am skeptical of Apparat
...any thoughts?

He is creepy for sure, I'd try to avoid him too if I were Alina. And he is a priest but also has a political role, right? I was taught to be skeptical of this case lol

About the Darkling, is he the embodiment of the dark, brooding love interest or what? XD I can see Alina falling for him too, and I feel we'll have a love triangle...I don't know if I'm happy or not but I want to see how it plays out and more importantly if Alina can really do something about the Fold.

Yeah right, the priest is mysterious too, and I would love to see the formation of love triangle, albeit it's executed properly, I hated the one in The Selection series, in all three books it was being dragged unnecessarily, so hoping this doesn't let me down.
Also, I want Alina to be with Darkling, it just looks too good, it would be a good pair.

Yes, I am happy too, and my studies are good, the major exam has been postponed so it's not an issue now, I am liking this book a lot to miss on it.

I am still on chapter 10 but im planning on doing a whole lot of reading today. I am living for seeing that love triangle between Mal, Alina and The Darkling but I ship Alina and The Darkling more than Alina with Mal. Sometimes it's kind of annoying that there aren't too many explanations about roles, but eventually we can understand what is what. If I remember correctly the apparat was the priest that was with the king right? Anyways I'm sceptical about his "good will" to "help" Alina, if you get what I mean LMAO.
