Hey y'all! The poll is up for May's fiction group read: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2...

The choices are The Tourist Trail by John Yunker and We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler!

The poll closes on April 20, so get your votes in!

Also, starting next month, we will be having both a fiction and non-fiction book each month. There won't be a poll for that book - I'll just choose one from my growing list of vegan books - but if you have a suggestion, please feel free to comment or message me!

In the meantime, I'll be sharing info about our fiction choices in this thread.

THE TOURIST TRAIL by JOHN YUNKER

In The Tourist Trail, we meet Angela Haynes, a biologist studying penguins at a penguin research station, FBI agent Robert Porter, and Ethan Downes, a computer tech whose love for a passionate animal rights activist draws him into a dangerous mission.

Author John Yunker is co-founder of Ashland Creek Press, a vegan-owned publisher devoted to environmental and animal rights literature

WE ARE ALL COMPLETELY BESIDE OURSELVES by KAREN JOY FOWLER

This book focuses on the Cooke family. Narrated by Rosemary Cooke, she is now an only child, having previously had a sister the same age as her and a brother. There's something unique about her sister Fern. Based on reviews, this is a book with animal rights themes, but people seem to suggest going into the novel a bit blind.
