Barbara nodded with a smile. "Thank you, Richard." She let him kiss her and gently returned it. Then she stared up at the sky again. "Should we eat lunch now or go back into the ocean again?" She asked. She rolled over onto her front and smiled at Richard. She bent her legs so they were hanging over her back.

Richard smiled and could not help but admire her rear for a moment and then laughed at her legs bending over her. "I just cannot get over how pretty you are." He says to her happily. "Yeah We can eat, then wait a little while before we swim again." He said to her as he reached up to the cooler and started to open it.
Barbara blushed red. She hadn't been thinking about what she looked like but she was grateful that Richard liked her. "You are too sweet, Richard! Oui, we shall eat and then swim some more. It is quite fun and especially with you." She waited for him to open the cooler and helped him get out thr sandwiches. "I made some extras in case you are a big eater," she said, teasing him. "Don't worry, there is plenty of food." She took a sandwich and poured some of Richard's lemonade. Barb handed him a cup and took one for herself before settling on her towel.
Richard smiled and turned a little pink from her sweet words and he enjoyed her deep red blush. It was so cute to him. "I am glad you are having fun being with me." He said to her lovingly. He then got out the sandwiches and laughed at her comments. "Are you calling my fat? I might need to tickly you for that." He says to her playfully. Richard thanked her for the cup and spent extra time to make sure the sand beneath his cup was level. He then started to eat the sandwich and drink the lemonade. "Thanks babe, this is so very good. I might need to pull you over to the barracks some time and get you to cook us a nice meal." He said to her happily as he ate her food.
"Oh, non, I wasn't calling you fat!" Barbara exclaimed. "I just think that maybe you like to eat a lot because you are active and, well, very strong." She blushed again, unable to keep the redness down. She copied him by pressing the sand down into a flat surface for her cup to rest on. She smiled at his compliment. "Perhaps I shall. I love cooking. I should invite you over to my apartment sometime so I can cook a meal just for you. What is your favorite cuisine?" She took a bite and sipped her lemonade.
Richard laughed as Barb had to defend herself to him. He had not actually taken offense, he just enjoyed teasing her. "Well I suppose you are right then." He says to her about her commenting about his strength. "I just enjoy you with a cute red face." He says to her playfully. He then nodded with laugh as she spoke having him over. "That sounds. I enjoy seafood. It is expensive from where I am from in America. So If you know how to prepare lobster you would get many kisses from me." He says with a laugh as he finished his first sandwich and then drank the rest of his drink.
Thankfully Barb hadn't taken any offense, either. She just laughed with him. But every time he mentioned her blush, she simply went redder and couldn't help it, giggling. "I'll see what I can do, then. I do also like seafood and lobster is tasty. I wouldn't get any kisses from you until I know that you actually think my cooking tastes good. A sandwich is one thing. A lobster is the real test." She saw that he had eaten his first sandwich and offered him the others from the container she had put them in. She sipped more of the lemonade and picked up the pitcher. "May I pour you some more?" she asked, wanting to satisfy him.
Richard smiled as Barb only seemed to get redder as he mentioned her blush and gave her cute giggle. "Oh that is great, I was a little worried that you might be allergic to shellfish." He said to her happily then laughs and nods when she speaks of lobster being the real test. "That is true, but I am not sure I could go that long without kissing you. You are just too pretty and taste too good." He says to her with a laugh. He then took her other sandwich and nodded as she offered to fill his cup back up. "Go ahead. I can tell that you like your men satisfied. You are prime wife material." He says to her playfully.
"Nope! I'm not allergic," Barbara said with a happy smile. "I don't think I'm allergic to any food, which is very nice. I'd hate to miss out on something delicious." She chuckled and poured up his glass to the top. "It would never do to have someone unhappy. And again, you are too complimentary. I'm not sure I deserve someone as sweet as you are." She crossed her legs and sipped her lemonade. There was another bruise on her leg aside from the earlier one and she again didn't notice it. "Is lobster your favorite seafood?"
Richard smiled from her happy words. "Yeah, I think I am the same way. I would hate to miss out on some good food." He said liking the way she put her words. "You are such a poet." He says, enjoying how light and happily she spoke to him. "No I am the lucky one to be here with you." He says with a happy smile. He shifted so he was sitting on his legs and watched as she crossed her pretty legs. "Yeah, lobster is my favorite sea food. though crab is a close second. Are you ok? You got another bruise. Is that from you sitting here?" He asked her worried about her.
Barbara smiled at him. "You think I am a poet? We should try to write a poem together. I'm sure you would be good at it." She looked thoughtful. "I am not actually sure what my favorite seafood is. I like fish and crab and lobster, but what one I am not sure. Have you eaten scallops before? Or clams?" She looked down at her legs and frowned, shaking her head. "There is another one," she murmured, pointing to her wrist. "I am really not sure what they are doing there. I feel fine, though. I must keep bumping myself. Like that girl you were telling me about."
Richard laughed from her words. “I may be a hopeless romantic. But I am no poet.” He says to her with a laugh. “Yeah I love scallops and clams. I just always cut myself on their shells.” He says with a laugh. He then frowned from her comment about finding more bruises. “Are you sure you feel fine? We can go get you to a doctor? Maybe you go stung by a jelly fish?” He asked her, wondering about if she was ok.
"You have to be careful! Yes, they can be sharp, though," Barb agreed. She had done that before but it was rare since it had been so long since she had last eaten scallops. She really needed to get back to eating the foods she loved. "I feel fine, I promise. If it was a jellyfish I'm sure it would sting. And it doesn't. Just feels like a bruise." She pressed lightly on it but flashed Richard a smile. "No worries, okay? How is that sandwich going?" She asked since he was eating the last one.
Her flashing him a smiled did calm him down a lot. He loved her pretty smile. He then laughed as she spoke about the sandwich. He took the last few bites. Then he drank the lemonade that was in his cup. He leaned to her and kissed her lightly on the lips. "That was for your pretty smile and this is for your amazing sandwiches." He said to her and leaned to her, kissing her deeply and passionately on the lips. Wanting to reward her for how much of a good job she had done on this date.
Barbara was at first taken by surprise but then she kissed him back and smiled. "You are such a gentleman, you know," she said happily. She liked being helpful and she wanted to make sure that Richard was enjoying his time with her. Otherwise it wasn't worth it really. When he kissed her back a second time, more deeply this time, she didn't push away. She kissed him back, hesitantly at first, but finally allowed herself to melt into it. He was a good kisser and a good friend. But maybe now he was more than just a friend.
Richard was happy that she was kissing him back. He then smiled and chuckled from her words. "I wouldn't say that I am a gentleman. I know little of politeness." He said to her playfully then enjoyed how she allowed herself to melt into the kiss. He kissed her deeper for a moment and tilted his head to kiss her deeper. After a moment he pulled back and smiled. "You are a good kisser and well you taste so sweet." He says to her lovingly as he moved his hands up to her face and gently cupped her cheeks.
Barbara was breathless from the kiss and she laughed softly. "You are a gentleman, and oui, you taste nice," she said. She smiled at him as they stared at each other. She scooted closer and put her hands on his shoulders. "Thank you, Richard love. Thank you for being here for me." Barbara kissed him on the lips and pulled back to stare at him. The waves crashed behind them in a gentle roar. A few seagulls landed nearby, wanting to steal the rest of their lunch.
Richard smiled, pleased that the kiss had taken her breath. He enjoyed her sweet words and sweet laugh. He could not help a happy sigh as she scooted closer to and placed her hands lightly on his shoulders. He in return wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her even closer to him. He heard the waves crash and the seagulls. But she was all that mattered to him in this moment. He then kissed her back as she kissed him and looked into her pretty eyes as he attempted to look into her soul. "And thank you Barbara love, for giving me a chance and being here with me." He said to her as he looked into her eyes with a loving smile. He then gently leaned to her and kissed her deeply once more on the lips. His hands gently rubbing her lower back.
Barbara nodded, squeezing his shoulder gently. "Same for me. Thank you. I need someone like you in my life." She thought about how Laurent would surely be jealous but would probably leave her alone now that Richard was around, but she really wanted Richard around because of who he was. Their lips connected again and she smiled through it, her eyes closed. When she pulled back, she beamed. "You are such a handsome darling," Barb declared. She shifted her weight and moved her legs so she was on her knees and could look at him better.
Richard smiled as she squeezed his shoulder in agreement. "I too could use a beautiful and caring woman in my life." He said to her lovingly. He then felt her pull back from their kiss and he smiled as he watched her beam happily. "And you are quite the beautiful woman." He says to her lovingly in return. He then shifted and pulled her on top of him with a laugh. He wanted to feel her loving warm body against him. He held he as he laid on the town and enjoyed her against him. "You are so very sweet. I love holding you." He says to her with a happy smile of his own.
Barbara stayed in his arms and put her head on his chest. She yawned contentedly. "Thank you. I love it when you do," she said lovingly. She could hear his heartbeat beneath her head and it calmed her and relaxed her. "Now we will be too tired to go swimming together," she said. "Whatever will we do?" She was mostly joking but it would be nice to go swimming again soon. Especially with Richard.
Richard smiled as he heard her content yawn. He then yawned with her. "You are making me yawn now Barb." He said with a chuckle. "I am glad that you enjoy me holding you. I can't seem to not be touching you. you are just a soft bundle of love and I am getting so very addicted to you." He said then kissed the top of her head. He then laughed from her words. "We need to wait to digest our food silly. I don't need you to have a cramp and down right as we find out we love each other." He says to her softly as he idly ran his fingers up and a down her back. It getting more lazy and going from her neck to her rear.
"Yawns are addictive," Barb agreed. She smiled at his kiss and stayed where she was, finding it comfortable. "I know. We have to wait. That would be awful if it happened. We'll just have to wait some more time." She yawned one more time. The sun was warm overhead and felt cozy. And she was comfortable so it was hard not to drift asleep like she was starting to do. Her breathing evened out and her eyes began to close.
Richard laughed as she said that yawns spread easily. He then nodded from her words. "We just have to wait and enjoy each other for some time. Then when you feel energized we can go again." He says realizing that she was getting into a post food slumber. He then watched as her breathing evened out and her eyes closed. Richard watched her as she slept for a moment. His hand softly tracing her and admiring her womanly curves. He then laid back with a sigh, her warmth and soft loving body was acting like a nice blanket. He closed his eyes and his heart beat slowed as he fell asleep quickly. His arms wrapped around her waist as he slept.
Barbara slept for about half an hour. When she finally awoke, she was no longer needing to worry about her stomach cramping up. She was still cuddled against Richard. The sun was hotter now and when she lifted her head, she could see that they had sunburns. She almost laughed; Richard would have a sunburn of her outline on his chest. But he still was sleeping so she didn't want to bother him. So far she had been really enjoying herself with this date and Richard.
Richard slept about the same amount of time as his date. He felt her stir and move. So he slowly opened his eyes and lifted his head. "Did you enjoy you nap?" He asked her with a laugh as he saw that her back side was red. "we should have put more sunblock on." He said with a laugh to her. He removed his hands from around her so she could get up. They were both going to have some major tan lines.
Barbara finally could laugh and nodded. "I did, thank you. I hope you did as well. We should have put more on for sure." She giggled and twisted to see the back of herself once she stood up. "Come on, let's go just one more time. Our stomachs have settled enough." She held out a hand to him so he could grab it and stand up.
Richard laughed and nodded. "I did enjoy our sweet nap." He said then took her hand. He stood up and held onto her hand as he raced her to the water. He then jumped in and splashed her some.
Barbara laughed when they ran together to the water. She jumped over the waves and splashed in. She laughed when Richard splashed her and did it back to him, trying to sweep a big wave at him before hurrying away as fast as the water would let her.
Richard laughed happily with her as she tried to sweep waves of water at him. He got wet and swept waves of water at her back. He then jumped into the water and swam after her. Catching her leg and pulling her to him, where he lifted her up and held her. He kissed her neck and teased her neck with his teeth.
Barbara squealed and tried to swim away from him but he had grabbed her ankle already. She splashed to get upright and laughed, spluttering in the water. When Richard picked her up and into his arms, she wrapped her arms around his neck. She had goosebumps along her arms and legs and smiled at him.
Richard laughed from her squeal and her wrapping her arms around his neck and her having goosebumps. He playfully growl at her. "The shark caught ya." He says to her playfully then pulled back and leaned to her, kissing her lips. His arms around her and holding her firmly to him.
"Ahh!" Barbara laughed. "I'm not even scared of this shark!" She kissed him back and smiled, still in his arms. She stared off at the water, the waves crashing against the shore. "Actually, the shark saved me," she admitted, gently teasing him by rubbing her fingers on his neck.
Richard laughed from her words about her not being scared of this shark. He smiled from her sweet kiss and enjoyed yer soft finger on his neck. “Oh did I save you?” He asks her playfully with a smile and gently let her legs lower to the water
Barbara nodded, smiling happily at him. "You saved me." She stood up in the water and took Richard's hand, leading him up the shore and back to their spot. She grabbed her towel, shook the sand off, and wrapped herself in it. "Thank you for coming with me to the beach," she said, drying herself off. She loved Richard's company.
Richard smiled happily back at her, enjoying her smile. Then followed her back to the shoreline. Then back to their towels. He dried himself off and helped her dry off. Then smiled from her sweet words. "No problem. Do you want to wander around the peer for a moment or would you rather go back home?" He asked her lovingly as he wrapped an arm around her waist.
"We could walk around the pier for a little bit first, then head home," Barbara said, liking his ideas. "Maybe we should change first, though," she offered, pointing at their bags of clothes. It might seem strange to walk around the pier with only swimsuits on. She leaned into him and wrapped her arm around his waist in return.
Richard nodded from her words and laughed. "Yeah I suppose so, though I do think you look so hot in your swimsuit." He said playfully. Then picked up his bag and moved to change to his normal cloths in the changing room. A few moments later, he came out fully dressed, he waited for his woman to take to the pier. Maybe they would enjoy some of the games or stores.
"Thank you," Barbara grinned. Her cheeks were pink as usual. "And you look very handsome yourself." She grabbed her own clothes and went to change in the ladies' changing room. When she came out she was back in her dress, her bag tossed over one shoulder. Barb walked over to Richard and put her arm around his. She couldn't believe that the day had worn her out so much but she smiled anyway.
Richard enjoyed her cute pink cheeks and pretty grin. His own cheeks got a little red from her complement. "Hey pretty." He said to her happily as he watched her walk over to him and wrap her arm around him. He too wrapped his arm around her. He could tell she was a little worn out and he figured it might be best if they just went home so she did not fall asleep while she was driving. "I can tell you are low on energy, we can just go home. We can save the pier for another date." He told her then pecked her lips.
"Are you sure?" Barbara asked. She felt a bit bad, like she was disappointing to him because she was somehow tired out now. "I don't want to be boring. I still have some energy," she added, attempting to hide her sleepiness by smiling widely at him. But Richard seemed good at guessing things like this. "Walking around would even wake me up."
Richard nodded and smiled from her words. "You are the most interesting Girl I have met." He says to her lovingly. "You will just get more tired after this. We should probably just leave. After all I'll see you tomorrow and we can have another date." He says as he lovingly rubbed her side and walked her to the car. He then put away all of their beach things into the car for her.
"Really?" Barb's eyes brightened at that and she nodded. "Okay. You know best, dear sweetheart." She allowed him to walk her to the car and she kissed him before climbing into her seat. It was very sweet of him to bring everything over and she couldn't help but think of how gentlemanly he was. Once Richard was sitting beside her, she started the car. "We can always do more together," she said with a smile.
Richard smiled happily at her brightening eyes. He loved to see her happy. He then chuckled happily from her words. "Well I try." He replies to her happily and his cheeks went red from her sweet kiss. Before long he joined her in the car and they went off and started moving. "You are right, we can always do more together. I love how I can take my time around you and just enjoy the moments of things." He said to her happily. He watched out the window and then often turned and admired her as she drove them back, trying to think of things to talk about.
"Me too," Barbara sighed happily. "I can be myself around you without fear of what others will think. Or what you will think." She kept her hands on the steering wheel, also thinking about what they could talk about. She wasn't always good at bringing things up but she did enjoy his presence beside her. Barb would have admired him but currently she was driving and had to pay attention to the road. "Feel free to turn the radio on, if there is a station you like."
Richard turned to her and smiled, happy that she could be herself around him and that he could feel the same way around her. "I am glad, I too feel calm and able to be myself around you as well. My sweet Barb." He says to her lovingly. He then nodded from her words. "I feel like we have been over this before. I'll try to find us some jazz." He says with a laugh and began to fiddle with the radio. Trying to find a jazz station.
Barb laughed happily. It was a nice sound. "I think we have! But that's okay, it is something to talk about." Finally, Richard found a good station of jazz and it sounded lovely in the car. She hummed to it for a few minutes before stopping as she did not want to ruin the music for Richard. The drive back was quiet but nice, and finally Barb pulled up by the college where they had met each other for the day. She got out and went to Richard's side to say goodbye.
Richard enjoyed her happy laugh and returned it to her as she hummed along to the song. "You are fine, you are not ruining it for me. I would love to hear you sing for me. I think you would be quite good at it." He says to her lovingly. Richard smiled as she got out and went to his side. He got out as well and hugged her and kissed her goodbye. "I will see you tomorrow." He told her as he kissed her lips lovingly one last time.
"That's so kind of you, Richard," Barbara smiled, enjoying his confidence in her. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed his lips back. "See you tomorrow, love," she said, her eyes shining brightly at him. She had loved this date with him and couldn't wait to do more together. Then she drew her arms back to herself and went back to her car once he got his things out, and drove away to her apartment.
Richard smiled and enjoyed her kissing him back. "See you tomorrow love." He replied to her lovingly as he looked back at her lovingly. He then went and got his things from her. He went back to his job site.
The next morning Barb got a call from the hospital that they had admitted Richard along with his partner Adler. Richard had his leg shot out . They shot an explosive crossbow bolt that crippled his other leg and arms. He was stable and conscious but a bit doped up on pain medication. He could not walk or write or move his hands and arms. He had burns on his limbs but the rest of his torso and head was fine. Other than some slight bruising.
