I am an avid paperback swap user and I just got a notice yesterday that the site, which was formerly free, is now going to start charging fees. I use it more for sending books out, but I've received some great books over the years as well. So here's my question: are you staying with PBS in spite of the fees? I paid my $18 because it's worth it to me, but a number of people are baling.

How do you feel about the changes?

Skye | 2105 comments I was unaware of PBS. I would pay the fee; heck, it sounds worth its weight in gold.

I have received some incredible books there. I do get tired of hearing people rant, though. The conversation in one forum there was getting heated enough that I stopped following.

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) They have a place for ranting? Interesting.

I might join a service like that, because I like to own paperbacks and see that ones I've read are passed on to someone else.

But I wouldn't necessarily enjoy creating an account, or sharing my mailing address, or c.c. info. That's the biggest hitch.

They don't normally rant over there -- it's just that this is all so sudden. If you don't want to give out your home address, well, USPS sort of has an issue with that nowadays.
