Amanda | 2442 comments I know that policy is for book titles to match the cover, but I have a book that is a bit unusual.

Plus One Bonus
Plus One Bonus (Table Topped #4) by Alex Silver

The cover shows the title as "+1 Bonus"
Both the title page and the blurb of the book have the title spelled out "Plus One Bonus" instead of with the symbol. Amazon also lists the book with the title spelled out. I don't see the title on the author's website yet.

Would this be a case to spell the title out as the title page shows? Or does the "match the cover" rule still have to apply?

My other concern is the "+" can have issues with searching normally.

In this specific case, having confirmed via Look Inside that the title page does say "Plus One Bonus", I would agree with keeping the title that way.
