I'm currently reading a non-fiction book (trying to read more non-fiction this year) it's called The Poisoner's Handbook. I like it, it's quite interesting.
Just about to read Everything I Never Told You, as it has been on my bedside table for a wee while. Back at school, so a lot of Middle Grade reading - but some good ones among them: Brown Girl Dreaming, and The Crossover - both novels in verse, and very good.
Hi everyone. I'm reading by Paradise Toni Morrison which is great but a little hard going. I'm not usually put off by serious books, but this one does have very little in the way of light relief!Couldn't take it on holiday with me even though I was (and still am) nearly finished so I took Heart Songs and Other Stories by my old fave E. Annie Proulx. Her short stories are always great and I'll savour this one over a period of weeks.
Have also picked up Bonkers: My Life in Laughs by Jennifer Saunders, which is just about nothing but light relief! But fun.
I just bought a couple of new local novels I'm looking forward to: The Chimes by Anna Smail and New Hokkaido by James McNaughton.
Nothing like a good reading pile, eh :)
Hi everybody, just joined! I have just finished The Meal Jesus Gave Us by N. T. Wright, which I really enjoyed as my first ever reading of him. I am currently busy with his Simply Christian: Why Christianity Makes Sense.I also tried Joshua, the Man They Called Jesus but CLEARLY I mistook the book for Christian material instead of the highly sceptical work it is, so that will go straight back to the library. ;)
