What to do with ARCs once you've read them

What are we supposed to do with printed ARCs after we've read them?

You’re just not supposed to re-sell them. Most used book sellers won’t take them.

As Anne says, they are not meant to be sold on - so given to second hand book stores and sold - but can be given away to friends.

You should only be doing that with the author's consent. ARCs are something that you received at no charge - that the author has entrusted you with.

I have a huge pile on top of the hallway cupboard - I believe they may be helping keep up the roof....
