I'm kind of intrigued. But I missed the free sample...anyone try it already? I'll give it a shot. What the hell.

message 2: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Why not.

message 3: by Angie (new)

Angie (angabel) I wonder if tastes any better than Starbuck's coffee.

I'll stick with my Nescafe.

message 4: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) None for me, thanks.

message 5: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Chickens.

message 6: by Angie (new)

Angie (angabel) I think I might be becoming a Tim Horton's fan.

message 7: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Fat lot of good that does me in Kentucky. :P

message 8: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments We just had a French Press open up in Salem, so Starbucks is now low on my list. Plus, since I'm not doing sugar now, and my favorite SBs drink has plenty, I'm not sure I should go in and be tempted. Eeek!

I've never loved their coffee unless it's loaded with other stuff. Pretty bitter. Does anyone here love their coffee, or is it just that they are everywhere so it's convenient? I'm just curious.

message 9: by Angie (new)

Angie (angabel) I know, right? But the first Tim Horton's here is actually way closer than all of the Starbuck's. They picked a great location.

Where exactly are you in KY?

message 10: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Bardstown where all the Bourbon comes from. South of Louisville

message 11: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I love Tim Hortons.

message 12: by Angie (new)

Angie (angabel) What do you normally get, Larry?

message 13: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Rub it in, Larry, rub it in.

message 14: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Apple fritters, Angie.

message 15: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) I'm going to bed due the Drs. Evil angie and Evil Larry.

message 16: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Hey, Stephen, I miss them as much as you do. I can't even get lousy Dunkin Donuts where I live.

message 17: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Our Dunkin Donuts was replaced by a local Daylight Donuts... what is up with that? Are they out of biz?

Aaaagggghhhh... Jeeeellllly Doooooooonuuuuuts! *drool*

message 18: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) In Boston there's a DD on every corner. There isn't a single one in Nebraska. I have to drive the St. Joe, MO to get stale ones.

YUM Brands markets the franchise. Not very well, it seems.

Abigail (42stitches) | 150 comments No Starbucks closer than two and a half hours drive. Poo. I want to try it. Oh well. I'll stick with the Black Silk for now.

And no more teasing about Dunkin Doughnuts, please. I miss it too much.

message 20: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I didn't think there was anyplace that far from a Starbucks.

Abigail (42stitches) | 150 comments There certainly is and it makes me a little sad. I really like the coffee, even though the atmosphere isn't always good.

message 22: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Where do you live? Northern Alaska? Wyoming?

Abigail (42stitches) | 150 comments Lol...Mississippi

message 24: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) There are is a place in Louisville called Krispy Kreme, and when they have their Now Frying sign on, you can't even find a place to park. The donuts are soooooo warm and soft and sugary you don't even chew, they just melt in your mouth.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

There is no Dunkin Donut near Madison either, I believe the closest one is in Janesville, about 45 minutes away.

No Krispy Kreme either, but I'm not a big fan of theirs.

message 26: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Abigail wrote: "Lol...Mississippi"

Do people drink coca-cola there in the morning?

I doubt if Tim Horton will ever get to Mississippi. Sorry. But then, they won't be in Nebraska, either. We'll have to go north to get that stuff. :(

KK is not my style, either, Jim.

message 27: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) No Krispy Kreme either, but I'm not a big fan of theirs. and KK is not my style, either, Jim.

Obviously you've never seen the Now Frying sign, or you would. Otherwise, avoid them.

message 28: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I have seen the sign. I have smelled and tasted. I still prefer Horton.

message 29: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Larry wrote: "I have seen the sign. I have smelled and tasted. I still prefer Horton."

But there just ain't one here Waaaaaaaaaaa <--- weeping sound

message 30: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I would rather do without, Stephen.

We have a local bakery that makes some pretty good pastries, though. I kind of like the idea of giving them business, since they employ a whole bunch of locals who make good stuff and give great service at the counter.

message 31: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) We have Hadorns here, and they are good, but they only make three kinds of donuts, and then this outlandish variety of Danish's, which do next to nothing for me, and not a Butter Kuche in the house! However, they do make the most deeeeelicious cakes and pies. No, I don't eat a cake often, just holidays.

The reason you like Krispy Kreme is the reason I doon't Stephen, I like substance to my donuts, krispy Kreme's are too many calories for too little substance.

message 33: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Unfortunately that is true. AND, I stopped eating them about ten years ago. But a guy can dream, can't he??? Boohooooo, 51 is a terrible age. ;-)

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

It beats not making it to 51.

message 35: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Amen to that.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I find Krispy Kremes just TOO sweet. I'd rather have un pain au chocolat, merci.

message 37: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Un croissant, s'il vous plait.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Avec buerre et confiture, Larry?

message 39: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Mais oui! Et cafe aux lait!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Bien sûr, mon ami!

message 41: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Manger

More like RC...Actually the independant shop does a bustling business in take out in the morning. That's my problem with the place. They close at 6pm and no one hangs out and plays games or does anything fun. It's all business meetings and school work. Kind of like most Starbucks I've been to.

Ohio used to KK. I don't think they do anymore. I never liked the plain ones. And if I recall, I didn't like their fritters for some reason too. I don't remember. It's been a long time.

MM...milky coffee...I don't have any milk right now...just black Black Silk. poo

Does the sign in your area really say "now frying"? They must have done some test marketing, since up here the sign that lights up is HOT NOW. I think "now frying" would keep me away, even though I think they're delicious.

message 44: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Yup, now frying.

message 45: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) HOT NOW is the one I've seen.

message 46: by Jaime (new)

Jaime | 158 comments I only drink starbucks if its the white chocolate mocha...thats it, nothing else.

I am amazed that there are places that dont have dunkins. Up here we have 4 in my town and 3 are on the same road. They are everywhere so I usually go there. My town just got a starbucks maybe 6 months ago or so...I think I have been there twice if that.

We got a krispy kreme up here maybe 3 yrs ago or so...It has been gone quite a while now. Big when it first got here but then faded out i guess...makes me wonder if Sonic will be the same way.

message 47: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) I always wanted to open a BBQ place called "Steve's Butt Rub BBQ"

message 48: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) No!

message 49: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (stephenT) Why not? I would have a machine that did a vigorous roughing up of one's backside, and if you could take five minutes of it, you got your dinner free.

What a deal!

message 50: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) You have a terrific mind, friend.
