The pacing is rather slow in the beginning. Also, I normally enjoy the author's style of writing, but I've never been a fan of diary entries. From a historical context, I can get into diary entries, but I must admit I struggled to stay engaged. I believe the pacing is picking up closer to chapter 5.

My desire to read a dystopian fiction novel was answered, yet the imagery is pretty haunting. The narrator's descriptions of her surroundings and the people were difficult to read. 😔

Adrienna (adriennaturner) Hm. I have to see if this one of the 20+ books I am reading. I know it was slow as heck, and think it did pick up around chapter 5 but I left it to the wayside for the moment.

Is this the one with the main character goes into white and a black man's body, also his children are telepathic and some are stronger than others where they can read or manipulate other people thoughts?
