To be a series on Goodreads, books need to have more than a common theme -- like characters in common, an overarching storyline, a shared universe, etc. What makes this a series?

Hi, Rivka,

This is the first book of a two-book series that tells a continued story and shares several of the same characters. I won't be publishing the second book for a month or so.

Should I wait to request a series until both books are on Goodreads?

While a series certainly can be added with only one book in it, it is more usual to wait for at least a second one to be in pre-pub status (with a listing on Goodreads).
