This is the schedule that we’ll follow when reading the book.
I want to read it over the weekend, but I can’t so is it okay if I read ahead a little bit? I want you guys to be able to read it as well so that’s why the schedule has chapters to read over the weekend as well.
Spoilers for chapters 1-6!This is an amazing book! I am already addicted to it. I suspected Naomi right when Ravi said that she had a crush on Sal. I feel like there are going to be tons of suspects for the murder of Andie. Her dad could be the murderer, but I think that it’s too obvious for it to be him. I think he may have an important role connected to the murder, however. Max was acting very relaxed when talking about Andie’s murder so that may be pointing to something. Naomi does seem like the one with the most evidence against her. She had a crush on Sal, was supposedly in another room when she was at Max’s house, and she seems to grieve the loss of Sal the most. Andie’s father is definitely hiding something and I can’t wait for Pip to interview him. I also noticed that Pip was not allowed to interview Sal’s or Andie’s family, but she does not get any note from her school. What are things you noticed while reading the book and what are your thoughts on the witnesses?
(Spoiler for Chapter 1-6)This is such an addicting thing, isn't it? I can't wait for the rest of them. As for the murder of Andie, when they said they didn't find the body, my first thought was, maybe she isn't dead at all. From the way Pip wrote it, I think Jason might be abusive to his daughters and that might have caused her to run away. And maybe Jason knew about it. He knew he would likely not see Andie again and referred to her as a figure of his past already, hence the 'was'. And they tried to make this whole plot so that they won't be defamed for it and Sal got the burnt of it, because he was accused. As for Naomi, maybe she found out and they threatened to keep it quiet and she is feeling guilty about it. It fits with her personality, don't you think?

Spoilers for chapters 1-6!I actually think your theory is a possibility of what happened. It would make sense that Andie’s father would do something like that, but we will get more information when Pip interviews him. I also think that Andie could be alive and if her father has her, then he will later on kill her to hide the truth. I mean, that would make the most sense, right? Also, it makes sense that Naomi found out what happened and is hiding it out of fear. I don’t know how I didn’t see that.
Spoiler for Chapter 1-6!It could be that her father doesn't have her, and she had ran away. But wait, they found her car, right? Could it be that her father caught up with her plan and there was a struggle (hence, the blood) and she ran away to some bus station to get out of here. She lost her phone in the process, and she didn't remember Sal's number to contact him or maybe she didn't want to. Maybe Naomi witnessed it, hence the whole MIA thingy.
Spoilers for chapters 1-6!Yeah, but Max said that Naomi went into a room and not outside the house. He also never said that she was never with them and when she was with them, she acted normal. Naomi is, however, very emotional and would probably act abnormal if she knew. Also, we don’t know if Andie’s father left the party (I think he was in a party, but I forgot.) to stop her and how did he find out if he was at the party?
I think that we should now have more discussions after reading the next 6 chapters so that we have more information to deal with. Also, Stuti, feel free to share your thoughts. :)

The party thing is something they could be lying about. According to the info given, Andie was supposed to pick Jason and his wife at 12:45. I assume his wife knew about Jason's abuse, if this happened, so I don't think she'll have too much problem lying about it, and Becca (Andie's sister) was already afraid of her father, so could be that she told him about the plan.
As for Max, he said he was pretty drunk. Two, he said he was with two others for most of the night, so it could be that she slipped away, and three, it's a night five years ago. Although I do concede that Naomi would have said something.
Side note- this is awesome! I have never had someone to discuss in so much detail. I LOVE this.
OMG! I was thinking about Pip and Ravi love arc when I started reading today. It could totally happen and it would work so well!
Yeah, I mean, they are pretty obvious hints. But then, there is me thinking that they are just too obvious. And then going back and thinking, nope, this could work out well.In all fairness though, Pip x Ravi would be such a cute pair, wouldn't it be?
Spoilers for chapters 1-6!What you are saying could have happened, but I think Andie would have taken her sister with her is she was escaping so I’m not sure about that. I would think that she was planning this with Becca because if their father was abusing, she would probably not leave without her sister because she would know that her father would abuse Becca even more. I also don’t think Becca would send a message straight to her father about it if she stayed instead of escaping. She would have probably said that Andie went to Max’s house if she didn’t want her sister to be caught. We have made some really deep theories! Also, how would Andie’s father sneak out of the party, catch Andie when she was running away, kill her or make her unconscious, dump the car somewhere, hide Andie, and go back to the party? The times would mess everything up because Andie left at 10:30 and would have gotten pretty far away from the town so it wouldn’t make sense. I can’t wait to read the next 6 chapters!
Spoilers for Chapter 1-6 One, you forget Andie was a teenager, 18 if I remember correctly. If she had run away, Andie probably couldn't have taken care of both her and her little sister. She might have said that she'll come back for her as soon as she's able.
Again, it could be that Andie had gotten away, and not actually been killed. And Jason could have lied about everything, including her being missing, because he would be jailed for abuse, if he doesn't.

New theory- If it is Elliot, then it could be that Sal somehow found out about her relationship with Elliot, and then gotten her to break up. But Andie was a bitch, apparently, so maybe to keep her hold on Elliot, she tried to blackmail him and he killed her. That's why Sal was in a mostly good mood because he thought she had broken up with him. When Andie turned up missing, Sal went to Elliot to confront him and he killed him, and made it look like a suicide. Same goes if it's not Elliot. And secondly, Jason Bell had an affair that he knew she knew about. So, he has a motive to kill her too.
And Stuti, I know! I am weirdly freaking out about her getting a note as well. I just remembered a freaky detail- didn't Stanley, the racist reporter said she had a note in her locker as well? It could be that apart from all this, she had gotten to know something, and they killed her for it. And now, they think if Pip digs in, she'll find the same things.

The first thing that bugged me about it was how easily Pip ruled out Elliot. I mean, I get his explanation sounded pretty reliable, but he could be lying, right? Just because he said it doesn't mean it's true. I mean, he had a pretty good chance of placing the note on the camp. Secondly, and holy shit, this could be big, what if *pauses dramatically* Sal's friends were lying about the alibi? Everyone said Sal was a nice and calm guy, right? So it has to be pretty major for him to get angry. What if the reason he didn't tell the police the reason they were arguing was because he was protecting Elliot? Elliot could go to prison for statuary rape and of course, he would be defamed, so he was angry at Andie about that.
Also, Max and Andie having a relationship? What do you think about that? And drugs? Holy shit! Maybe Sal knew about the drugs. That's it- I am becoming a detective. Qualification- reading mystery books.

I agree with the theory you made. It makes so much sense! I think she is definitely going to get another note and I can’t wait. I’m so sad to see Elliot as a suspect. 😢 He was one of the only people I trusted, but it makes sense for him to be the secret old man that Andie was getting money from. I can’t wait to read Pip’s interview with him!

I am actually done with the book. It's April 14th here, and I am super busy tomorrow. I have 5 hours worth of classes, and a lot of homework to catch up on. So, I am not going to put any discussions on since I know everything.I'll see with the post book discussion if you wanna do that.

Although I wish somehow Sal would have ended up alive. Like, maybe he was never dead. I am sad he is dead.
I finished it as well! I got so surprised when I found out that Andie was actually dead. I was expecting her to be alive and was so ready to see her in Elliot’s old house, but the book took a sharp turn. Max was the biggest suspect on my list, but I didn’t think he would be the killer because it would be too obvious. Stanley was who I thought was going to be the killer and I think he is going to be used somehow in the second book of this series. I feel like I didn’t suspect Elliot because the book didn’t mention him often, but there were definitely subtle clues to him being one of the killers. That ending with Becca having killed Andie threw me off, but it does make sense now since she did not have an alibi and could have done anything during that time. Also, I don’t think it would make sense if Sal was still alive because it would change up the story completely and where would he be hiding anyway. Him being alive wouldn’t make sense because the police found his body and they also buried him. This is my favorite book of 2021 so far!
Honestly, I thought Elliot was involved in it. Idk, there were just subtle hints that I had picked up, like the biscuits, for one. I had been thinking of it ever since they were first mentioned.But Becca, I did not expect. But I guess I feel bad for her too. If she just owned up what had happened, it would have been so much better for everyone. I mean, it's not like she intentionally killed her. But I can understand how she felt. Can you imagine her feelings when she lived 5 years thinking she had killed her sister? I mean, they weren't close, but killing someone kind of looms on you.
I didn't say I thought Sal was alive. I just said I wished he was, because he seemed like such a nice person.
I just got the second book! Can’t wait to read it! :)
