Here are the books on my TBR that I have access to:1. Shadow and Bone
2. Concrete Rose
3. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder
4. Foundryside
5. A Deadly Education
These are my top 5 books ranked from most to least want to read. Feel free to suggest any books that are not on my top 5! :)
I also got The Sun and her Flowers by Rupi Kaur because I wanted to try out reading poetry. I would love to read it with you if you can get it. It is on sale in Apple Books if you want to get it.
Geez, I haven't even heard the names of half of these books. Stuti, what are the books you have access to?
I have got 1. Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom
2. Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
3. Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare
4. The Divine Comedy by Dante
5. Journey to the Center of The Earth by Verne
6. The Mysterious Island by Verne
7. Agnes Grey by Anna Bronte
8. A Study in Scarlet by ACD
9. The Iliad by Homer
10. The Old Curiosity Shop by Dickens
11. Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Hardy
12. Slaughterhouse five by Vonnegut
I have a few more (I have never realized how many books I have) but I can find e books in case I don't have it hard copy or kindle. Now, what books do you want to read? Let's decide on a genre first?
I feel like reading a mystery or thriller book since I have been reading a lot of fantasy and want to switch it up. I have no problem with classics either, but I just read a classic last month and had to DNF it because the writing is so formal and sometimes confuses me.
Some books we can read are A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, And Then There Were None, or One of Us is Lying.
Well, if you have a problem with reading classics, then And then there were none would probably have the same issue, since Christie is a 20th century writer, no?I vote A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. What about you two?
I have no problem with that. I also just checked my library and someone has checked out the other two books that I recommended and I already own this one. I can start reading from Thursday, but I am going to be busy on the weekend and won’t be able to read much so when should we start reading?
Well, I have no problem with Thursday. I am ready to start reading on Thursday. So, Thursday, it is?
How many chapters should we read each day? I suggest reading around 5 chapters a day and 2-3 on the weekend since I won’t be able to read much on the weekend.
Sure, sounds awesome. We're all in time zones, although Stuti and I are pretty close on it. Does that make a difference?
I mean, Milind lives in the US, so the difference with IST is about 12 hours, give or take an hour or half. So, me and Stuti, we probably have a difference of about 1.5 hours, but it's practically the next day for me half of the time as compared to Milind. Don't ya think? Or am I overthinking this? I just don't want to post any spoilers here.
Between the US and Mumbai, there is a difference of 9 and a half hours. That means it is around 10:30 in India since it is 1:00 for me here. For you Thursday will come earlier than for me so the weekend will also come earlier for you. I will not be able to read the book on Sunday or Monday since I am meeting some relatives and am not going to bring my book there.
Nah, Stuti, none taken. I do have a problem with overthinking everything. Anyway, that's cool. So, thursday, 5 chapters. Cool. Looking forward to it!And that's fine, Milind, we get it.
Thanks for being so understanding! I am so busy this month with school and family and I have a tight schedule. I like Stuti’s idea of putting spoilers if your going to say something like that. This book is a mystery so it would be terrible if any of us got spoiled by each other!
Same, Milind. I am super busy too. My classes just started for the new session, and everyone's getting geared up for a LONG year. And definitely spoilers need to be mentioned. Maybe we can put up a little note of what chapter we are talking about so if someone hasn't read that chapter, they can skip it.
Great idea Khushi! I guess I do write a lot, but for some reason I just never notice. When I start writing something, I can go on and on about it. Whoops! :)
Same here. I just start, and then my thoughts keep flowing. And flowing. I swear they don't stop. Got it right, Milind. Whoops! :)
The book has 49 chapters so I can split the book two way. We can either read 6 chapters a day which will take us 8 days to finish the book or read 8 chapters each day which will take us 6 days to finish the book. Could you two tell me by tomorrow so that I can make a schedule for us to follow? Before I make the schedule, also tell me if there are any days in the upcoming week in which you won’t be able to read the book. Thanks! 😁
I think 6 chapters a day works better for me. And I don't think there are any days where I won't be able to read.
I just completed the six chapters of the day, and damn! They are awesome! She has written it in such a capturing manner. Read it up fast, you two. And Milind, this one was a very good suggestion. Till now, at least.
