Definitely, Sharon. And I'm sure he still wants to be there to protect her but I think it's more than just that now. He has a real interest in the cases and an itch to use just a wee bit of his "illegal skills"! lol

Michelle | 2660 comments I wonder how long before Eve fnds out about the shares !?

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11225 comments Mod
Whenever, if ever, it won't be long enough, Michelle! lol Can you imagine her horror?

Michelle | 2660 comments Lol. That conversation will be so good ! Especially after Peabody mentioned the Roarke fund as well.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3062 comments I'm sure it will be in a future book about a crooked investor or something like that. Wall Street in Death.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3062 comments Can't use Wall Street (2 words) so Clowngrade in Death is a better title.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3062 comments I was at a funeral today and a conversation I had reminded me of Greta and Eve. It touched me when I first read how Eve knew if anything happened to Roarke how she would need his things around her to get through his death. That is a beautiful scene that I completely forgot when we were talking about the book.

That was a beautiful scene, Sharon. I loved it...was so good to hear Eve say that. It says a lot about how far she's come & how much she realizes how important he is to her. Same with Roarke, of course.

SB*needs low angst books* I just went back and listened to this again. I have all the audiobooks. It is one of the rare things I will spend that kind of money on but I just have to hear Susan Erickson voice everyone. Lol. I really loved how the ending went. I mean here was a woman, Ava, who thought everything out only to shoot herself in the foot. The other woman Susan was just pitiful. I also liked that J D made the characters woman instead of men to go head to head with Eve. It made for listening to hear that she reminded her of Magdabitch lol. I really felt for the nephew. I really wonder how he felt when he heard that Eve was right. Do you sometime wonder what happened to people in the book?

I do, Sbyrd! I often wonder about characters (many times it's support characters) long after finishing a book...and often wish the author would let them appear in another book or spin off series.

Michelle | 2660 comments Guys but they often do !M who would have thought that Tiko would come back. I think the longer this series goes that will happen. Who know Jd might want a list of characters. . . .

@ Sharon. Thank you for reminding me of that scene. I had it highlighted with thoughts of saying something about iit :-). And yes Sandra they have come a far way.

You know I was always curious about the twins from Holiday, the author From imitation, Eve' s foster brother, the mom and dad in innocent, the dad from treachery and the nephew from this one.

I do the same with other books/series/authors...wonder about characters that you never hear from again.

I do too. Sometimes I make up my own little story in my head (not well written at all) about the characters I wonder about. Robb must do that too because characters do come back like Jamie, Tiko and there are others in books moving forward. I'm thinking about Fr. Lopez he comes back in another book.

At least I am not the only one and yes Sharon like you I make up in my mind what happened to them but not successfully lol. I would love to see Father Lopez again. I loved that he helped Morris with his loss since they both had a lost love to violence. I love Tiko. I also love Crack. Haven't heard from him in a while.

Keri | 8 comments Just finished this book. Ava was a piece of work. I loved that Eve knocked her out in the end. Imagine having a good, decent man love you and take care of you only to callously plot his demise because you were bored? Best part was when Eve said "I married a man. The man." I almost swooned. Eve can be really romantic without realizing it lol. I can only imagine how Roarke felt when he heard that :D I felt a little bad for Suzanne but in the end she made her choice and has to live with the consequences.

Every once in a while, Eve says something profound about her relationship with Roarke and it just knocks me out.

Yes! It always gets me because she's really not consciously good at it. Sometimes she tries and she's so awkward, not like Roarke who can make the phonebook romantic lol. It makes the moments so much better.

You’re right, Keri. You know at that moment it comes from a place of authenticity and spontaneity.

I swooned too, Keri! Of course, I often do that when it comes to Roarke! ;)
