42: (view spoiler)[ Small observation that only Hermes had an interesting death. All the other Gods, just... died such anticlimatic deaths. Athena is finally showing her true colors. (hide spoiler)]

But are you gonna tell me that the Kadmides hid important things like money, rare weapons, and the frigging Zeus's Shield behind two silly electronic doors??? WITH NUMBERS AS PASSCODES? Where are the guards?? Where are the live-in cameras??? They kept saying that Wrath was bested by a child. Excuse me bust that's not my idea of "bested". I thought confrontation was involved. 43 - (view spoiler)[ Athena is WAY more ruthless that’s I was expecting, torture is already off the tables, but torturing children is unforgivable. That’s SO NOT OK. Lore is really courageous to do that to herself. (hide spoiler)]

44 - (view spoiler)[ Athena's trolling is on another level. I mean, the binding wasn’t even real! My frustration levels hit a peak when Athena was like, oh, well fine. I have a backup plan. And I'm here like:



Why waste all that energy on Lore if you have a backup plan??? It clearly is a simple one if you can perform it in 2 days.

Plus, let's be honest, there are at least 10 ways to have handled the whole situation differently. If Athena was just a bit more cunning and actually smart she could've taken the shield 7 years ago. Literally, just give the Perseides a call and say you'll work together.

They would be desperate to get protection, she wouldn't even have to lie that much. She's definitely lacking as a Goddess of Wisdom. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 34
(view spoiler)[Ugh sending Miles was such a stupid strategy. It was crystal clear this would be a trap. Seriously. They had no purpose to be so offensive on their front. Okay, Artemis is way ahead and I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad one that Artemis came to them anyway. It is exceedingly annoying to see Lore make such stupid mistakes. I’m also annoyed by Miles. Seriously. This isn’t cool. He isn’t helping as much as distracting others. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 35
(view spoiler)[Artemis’s power is cool and I’m really loving every description about her, but what is stopping the other two from using theirs? And seriously Castor, so much love for Miles? Sucks that so many innocents have to die. It’s a wonder that no one in the ‘normal’ world is taking note of all the manslaughter. And Van’s emotion was a bit too much, too soon. The spark hasn’t really been this great anyway. (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 36
(view spoiler)[Athena betrayed Artemis before. She promised him Cas. She would have delivered I think. Damn Athena. Killer in the river? I don’t know what to feel about this chapter. While the fight was good, the scene around it wasn’t. And Artemis’s death feels utterly misplaced. Ugh, they have killed two gods themselves. What did Artemis mean when she said that Castor was different? Is he different because he didn’t take this power himself? (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 37
(view spoiler)[OMG WHAT????? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT???? This was so fast and so unexpected! Caught me off guard. He’s gone too. Damn. As for Athena, that was some control over her emotions. She lost her sister now. (hide spoiler)]

Part 4: Dark Rivers

Seven Years Earlier
(view spoiler)[Okay, I felt this chapter. A lot! But I really wish this was introduced earlier on. We needed to find more of a connection. We could have felt their kiss better if we knew more about the past. It sucks how little information was given out.

(view spoiler)[Iro what, seriously? Oh damn. I am so disappointed! Castor is really dead. It feels so bad after that. The hunter was a dummy, seriously died already? Lol. For a second I wondered if Iro’s mother might also come in this chapter. Iro’s stupid excuse is shit. I’d kill her too. I was with Lore on this one. Ungrateful little b*tch. She is a sorry excuse for a friend, and Lore should have remembered Iro would be loyal to her bloodline first.

For the last line of the chapter: I’m relieved! Phew! (hide spoiler)]
Chapter 39
(view spoiler)[Lore, I'm so sick of you. I like Castor way better. Lore is the most confused character in the whole book! Take a side, you idiot. You don't want to be influenced and yet you let Athena decide for you. Didn't you just lose him a minute ago? Get some sense in you! Cas has been clear with her about his lack of knowledge, and what if he didn't die? This doesn't justify all this suspicion when she was already told. I wonder what Apollo and Hermes knew. I really wonder. I'm guessing we'll now see this river monster? (hide spoiler)]

I really need answers on Castor! And yeah I don't like how stupid our characters can be. Honestly, Athena is gonna turn on them soon, she is slowly getting more and more in control.

I think I could've connected more to the characters if I knew this before, right at the end doesn't give me enough time to care that much. BTW, thank you. hahaha

Not gonna lie, he's my favourite until now. He's naive, and sometimes makes question his survival instincts, but at least he's CONSISTENT.

There's no way around what they're doing with Miles. I get it, he can make his own choices, but this choice is theirs too. Miles could've died 100 horrible ways. It's just that he has plot armor. But seriously, that's ridiculously dumb. 😑

To give your life for someone after 3 days is a bit of a stretch I think.
You know, I was thinking the same. What's the actual difference between the "unblooded" and "blooded" treatment? Is there magic involved? Is it somehow more advanced? (I don't think it is)
If not, the "healers" are just regular medics and nurses. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is sooo relevant. I guess is plausible for a fantasy book to say that they have been doing the clean-up right after a battle. But c'mon, there are "battle scenes" here that are huge! And they don't even have magic. How can they even do that? How are normal humans not discovering all the blood and gore out in the open?

lol Athena?? really. that's disappointing. she was one of the only characters I actually liked, along with Miles. that’s sort of ruined anything positive I had to say about the book. I can’t wait to finish this.

also I feel bad for Lore now that she knows not only did Athena betray her, she’s also the one who slaughtered her family. what’s worse is how the guilt of leaving that window open will stick with Lore. poor thing (hide spoiler)]
