When Bucky became the winter soldier she became the spirit soldier. She was never known to the avengers. When Steve broke HYDRA's hold on Bucky, he told the avengers about her. She was like a little sister to him, she was still with HYDRA, that was until Buckyt rescued her and broke the hold on her. She was taken in by Steve and the other Avengers.
