Art (aka Whistler Reads) (art-whistlerreads) | 29 comments My Oasis Library has recently begun grouping all my books listed into "Series" chunks...
Can someone please help me return to individual titles, please?

Eric Westfall (eawestfall) | 105 comments This appears to be happening across all AMZ devices. First noticed it on my Fire tablets. Personally, I like having all the books in a series available under one cover image, so I don't have to go hunting for them one-by-one.

That said, the changeover didn't occur simultaneously on all my devices, and when one of them recently changed I think there was a quick note displayed about being able to change this in "settings."

I have no idea how you access "settings" for your Oasis, but I have to assume you do. Perhaps check there?

Just my USD .02.

Eric

Lori Enrico (lorienrico) | 8 comments This was because of Update 5.13.5 of March 2021. It was not listed specifically in the notes, but a message showed on my Oasis screen the first time I turned it on after the update.

MarilynW (huecotx) Art, I'll try to tell you based on my Oasis.

My Home displays all my books in the order I've accessed them. Top right has three dots...click on them.

Then Settings > Advanced Options > Home & Library > Group Series in Library (mine was set to OFF and I didn't even know that was an option...I like it OFF).

CBRetriever | 486 comments You can turn them off under: Settings -->> Device Options -->> Advanced Options -->> Home & Library -->> Group Series in Library = Off

I hate those because books not from Amazon won't be in any series and some of the series are misnamed:

I turned mine back on to see what happened with some of my books and noticed a completely stupid Series: Rediscovered Classics which contains a book by Rosemary Sutcliff (Mark of the Horse Lord), two by Mary Stewart (Rose Cottage and The Moon-Spinners) and one by Grace Ingram (Red Adam's Lady) which don't go together at all.

The Alex Delaware series did add the two books I bought a few days ago (March 22nd), but it still didn't add the book I bought from another source to my Saga of Recluce series and there's no way to add it. And for the Inspector Gamache series, the book I bought in 2017 is not part of the series even though the title says it is

I am not in love with Amazon's series either because there are so many errors. I've always created collections for my series. I have found that since I almost always view my library in list form and filtered by collections that this new series feature does not show until I click Collections off, which I did just to see if the feature worked in list view.

By the way, my Inspector Gamaches were correct in the series view--I checked. That makes me wonder even more what else is wrong.

The Hangman (Chief Inspector Gamache Novel) isn't in the list. I know it's a novella (100 pages), but the title clearly says Novel so it should be in the list.

That's not a series

Ah--I do not have that Gamache, which is why that was a discrepancy. I totally agree with you on your Rediscovered Classics not being a series!
