Lea Smiciklas | 66 comments I was wondering if most of you live in the US? And where do you read? (kindle, library, buying books, etc)

I live in the US, yes, and I go to the library to get books to read but currently I'm using Hoopla bc the some of the books I wanna read, they don't have at the library

I think I've heard of that before!

message 459: by Lea (new)

Lea Smiciklas | 66 comments Since I live in the Dominican Republic (native language is Spanish) there aren’t really a lot of libraries with books I’m interested in so a friend of mine recommended the Libby app and she got me a library card. I’ve been using it for a few weeks

Leila Reads | 14 comments hey guys soooo i love fall and halloween and all the coziness that comes with it <3 i especially love reading a cozy book all curled up in a cozy blanket while it’s raining. overall fall is just lovely and i was wondering if anyone had any good fall reads? like maybe a cozy murder mystery, a spooky book, or gilmore girls vibes. just something that’s fall 🎃🍁

message 462: by Leila (new)

Leila Reads | 14 comments idk how many times someone can use the word cozy in a sentence but i might’ve made a record

message 463: by Lea (new)

Lea Smiciklas | 66 comments I feel like Serafina has like a fall vibe to it

message 464: by Emma Jo (new)

Emma Jo I agree fall is unmatched! I seriously need a book like gilmore girls too that would be awesome, I wish I had a rec. But An Enchantment of Ravens is great and I remember it having good cozy Autumn vibes. Thats the first book that comes to my mind but I will think about it some more

message 465: by Emma Jo (new)

Emma Jo a couple more ideas :)
Horrid by Katrina Leno, I had a few problems with it but overall enjoyed it. not really "scary" but a spooky fall feel for sure.

Clown in a Cornfield by Adam Cesare, I was hesitant of it at first because I dont read alot of horror but I enjoyed this waaaaay
too much. Its awesome, reads just like a teen slasher movie. so if your into that kinda thing I say go for it. I'm actually about to re-read this myself lol

message 466: by Chloe (last edited Aug 14, 2022 02:32AM) (new)

Chloe Hey guys I'm going camping on Thursday and am hoping to pick up a few books beforehand so I can read them in the tent. I love romance, fiction and am kind of starting to get into thrillers so if anyone has any recommendations that would be great thx - reminder I'm nearly 14 :)

message 467: by Maya (new)

Maya The Selection & I Kissed Shara Wheeler

message 468: by Emma Jo (new)

Emma Jo The selection <3 Kierra Cass also has a standalone called The Siren! I would also recommend The Lonliest Girl in the Universe, its part romance-ish, part thriller, sci-fi but not super complicated

Lea Smiciklas | 66 comments I have the kindle paperwhite 11th generation. It works really well for me and is affordable

message 481: by Emma Jo (new)

Emma Jo hey guys, I was wondering, does anyone else here struggle with chronic pain? I'm not really expecting anyone to answer but thought I would ask anyway :)

message 482: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, I do. Mostly in my stomach but in various places also. Why?

message 483: by Kayla Grace (new)

Kayla Grace | 40 comments Not to change the subject but we should get a bunch of people together and make a thread and at a certain time we all come on and chat at the same time. Just an idea 🤷🏻‍♀️

message 484: by Emma Jo (new)

Emma Jo its hard to find people that deal with the same kinda thing, so figured I would just ask if anyone was. And say hello. I have a constant headache, neck and shoulder pain, etc. im sorry you are dealing with it too

message 485: by farah (new)

farah (faraah) | 18 comments Lea wrote: "I have the kindle paperwhite 11th generation. It works really well for me and is affordable"

oh thanks for ur answer!!

message 486: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh that sucks. I get headaches a lot too, and I've been having migraines lately. And my neck, sometimes it has the rush of pain and then goes away a minute later. I'm sorry that's happening. Do you use anything to help ease the pain?

message 487: by [deleted user] (new)

@Kayla Grace that sounds good

message 488: by [deleted user] (new)

Not trying to change the subject but, I was wondering if anybody would like to buddy read the Inheritance Games with me? It's OK if not just asking :)

message 489: by Emma Jo (new)

Emma Jo unfortunately I don't. had this headache for almost 4 years now. yay. dont get hit in the head kids. anyways,I definitely understand the wierd neck pain/sensations. do you have anything that improves things?

message 490: by Emma Jo (new)

Emma Jo btw its okay to change the subject

oh wow. No, I don't ever use medicine or any of those things. I usually wait it out. But i have this weird bump on my neck(its probably a swollen lymph nod) but i get pain from there

message 492: by Emma Jo (new)

Emma Jo yeah. the medicine isnt great anyways. that sounds painful, I wish you luck in figuring it out

message 493: by Lea (new)

Lea Smiciklas | 66 comments I would love to read The Inheritance Games with you but it is already taken at my online library :(

message 494: by [deleted user] (new)

You too

message 495: by [deleted user] (new)

Lea wrote: "I would love to read The Inheritance Games with you but it is already taken at my online library :("

its okay! i hope you can get it soon :)

message 496: by [deleted user] (new)

my brother spilled water on our computer, and now the sound isnt working... my mom LITERALLY made a rule "No food and water around the computers" when we had first got them

message 497: by Cassidy:) (new)

Cassidy:) I just wanted to add something about chronic pain! I don’t deal with any pains from injuries like that, but i do struggle with migraines. I just use a ice pack for when my head gets painful! Have you ever tried bio freeze or icy hot?

message 498: by [deleted user] (new)

For me:

No, I really just wait it out because they are never long for me. And even though they are painful, they go away and then I'm fine afterwards

message 499: by Lea (new)

Lea Smiciklas | 66 comments Tell me if you liked the book! I’ve read some bad reviews…

message 500: by Cassidy:) (new)

Cassidy:) Oh yeah mine last for a day or two:/ if it ever gets worse i definitely recommend the ice pack and Excedrin( migraine medicine)! but Emma i suggest icy hot or bio freeze
