SOLVED. Sci fi novel about aliens on a flat world [s]

Old style cover. Can not recall title or author, but the plot revolves around alien species on their disc shaped, flat home world. The planet is slightly concave and depicts scientific realism when describing the gravitational differences between the center and the edge/wall of the planet. If memory serves correctly, the aliens are intelligent, multi-pedal, with exoskeletons. I do not recall humans being an integral part of the plot.
