I’m curious as to what everyone does with their printed ARCs or review copies after they’ve been read and reviewed. I have a boatload and want some help on figuring out where to throw them overboard. As much as I’d love to keep them all, but it’s just not feasible. I’ll keep the ones that are signed to me by the author and a couple I might revisit. (Upon nearly instantaneous reflection, I probably won’t look back at previously read books. There are JUST SO MANY BOOKS in the world that I want to read!) I’ve been reading eARCS from a few different sources now, but my giveaways physical stacks are growing like weeds.
I think it’s assumed that the print galleys aren’t to be sold. Even if that were an appropriate means of clearing the bookshelves, the secondhand shops pay so little that I’d rather donate them to people who want or need them.
Ideas would be greatly appreciated! Contact info for something like this would be great too! I’m thinking like prisons, after school programs, inpatient psychiatric wards, or nursing homes. Please feel free to chime in with any ideas, even if you think it’s silly—somebody here will work it into a viable solution.
(I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but I didn’t see a similar topic while doing a quick search. Thanks everyone!)
You can't give them to a library because ARCs aren't usually the final novel. I usually give them away to friends or bin them if I'm never gonna read them again, the vast majority are proudly sat on my shelf.
