When Sharp, Lance and Morgan finally realize that Olivia is missing, they first look to the cases she was investigating as a possible connection to her abduction. Did you have any other ideas at this stage?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments No, I was sure that it was related to the stories she was investigating.

So was I. Hadn’t decided which yet but was certainly leaning towards the Olander case. Yes, I fell hard for the red herring.

So did I!
Not surprising really given that the resolution has absolutely no foundation in the story. I dislike it when villains turn out to be characters introduced 3 chapters before the end. It feels too much like stringing the reader along with contrived red herrings.

You’re right. Stephen came out of nowhere and the only other clue we had was the media mysteriously showing up throughout the investigation. It was too esoteric, even though I wondered who was contacting them.

Yes, this had me pondering for all of 5 minutes as to how the. media could have known so quickly. I just agreed with the explanation that there was a leak in the Sheriff's office.

Same here and it wasn’t a big deal. If this was the foundation for the abduction, Leigh should have made a bigger deal about the impact of the coverage.

Robin (robinmy) | 2478 comments I fell for the red herring too. I was sure Olivia's kidnapping had something to do with one of the cases she was checking into. It didn't seem like we were given any other clues until the later part of the book.
