Robin (robinmy) | 2454 comments I liked this story, but didn't love it. The whole mystery was very complex and I was having a hard time figuring out what was going on with the nine dead bodies that Brad Donnelly was investigating. Kane Rogan was even having a hard time figuring the whole thing out.

When the story ended, it felt like it should say "to be continued". There were too many loose ends that need tied up. I guess we'll learn more in the next book.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I agree with Robin, it should have had "to be continued" at the end. It felt very unfinished.

I was annoyed when I got to the end and it was a “to be continued.” That’s not happened in this series before. It was a long story that could have been pared down and finish it all here.

I liked the story a lot, didn’t love it. Don’t like cliffhangers.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments At the end of my paperback copy, after several chapters about how Max came into being as a character, there is a chapter from the "sequel" to this book, NO GOOD DEED, which begins with Nicole Rollins. I decided not to read just the one chapter.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I hate cliffhangers especially if the author doesn't let me know before I start reading. There isn't anything in the series so far that would make me think the book would end the way it did. I'm glad I can start the next book right away. If No Good Deed doesn't complete this story, I will be very upset.

That said, I like this story.
