Lucy knew about Sean being asked to do the forensic analysis, but by the time she got to work, she didn't have time to tell Barry before Juan announced that Sean had called with the news. It probably looked a little suspicious to Barry, especially since he had mentioned the fact that Sean shouldn't insert himself into the case.
Lucy couldn't win in this instance. I wasn't like she wasn't going to tell Barry, Juan just got to that first. I liked that Lucy stuck up for Sean by telling Barry that she wasn't going to try and control what jobs Sean could or couldn't take.
Barry was overreacting here but at this stage, I understood him. I agree, Anita, that it was a no-win situation for Lucy. And, Sean gets to work for whomever he pleases.
Sean was asked to help HWI by an employee there because he knew Sean's work and knew that he would do it right. He didn't ask because of Lucy. If it had been anyone other than Barry, I think Lucy would have said something. But Robin is right. Juan got to it first. I forgot that. I agree, Anita. I liked that part.
I agree Lucy couldn't win. Sean didn't do anything wrong accepting the job.Personally, I don't think Lucy is obligated to tell Barry about Sean's job. He wasn't hired to find Harper's killer, he was hired to examine the company's security. Security is his job. As a courtesy, it would be appropriate to let Juan know, but Sean did that. If Barry was any other partner, I'm sure Lucy would have shared with him.
