When Lucy and Barry notify Adeline that her husband was dead, she leaves the room and notifies his daughter by phone. Did any warning bells go off for you at the time because of this or anything else?

Robin (robinmy) | 2454 comments I was surprised that she didn't ask the FBI if they had already notified Harper's daughter or if she should do it. She just took it upon herself to call Jolene about the situation. It was very telling when we learned that she and Jolene didn't get along.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Her reaction to the news was strange. Calling Jolene was a cruel thing to do and clued me in that all was not well in that relationship.

I thought it strange because I knew SHE knew better than to do something like this and to not tell them beforehand what she was up to. And, I agree with you both that it didn’t say much about her relationship with Jolene.

Alarm bells were screaming.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments No warning bells per say. I definitely felt she was cold and had no real relationship with her stepdaughter.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I didn't understand how she could just walk out of the room unaccompanied by someone on the force.

That may have been in deference to her being an elected official.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments Warnings bells were ringing loud for me. I thought "bad step mother" at first. Then I thought what is she really up to?

Barry, a seasoned agent, should have asked more questions. He was to concerned about reprimanding Lucy that he didn't see potential problems right in front of him.

I agree, Sharon.
