“Hufflepuff. And you probably haven’t seen me around since I am a 6th year. But I’m also a prefect so you might have seen me. How bout you?”

He took her hand and shook it warmly. He loved meeting the younger students. And this one was the same year as his sister. “Well it’s nice meeting you Lesmiet.”
“I’ve thought about it. I don’t know if I will though. I turn 17 soon but I don’t know if it’s my kinda thing.” He said but sounding unsure. It was always worth a shot though. I mean what were the chances of him actually winning? Compared to how many students that were probably going to enter.
“Okay I think I will enter. It could be fun. Thanks for encouraging me to.” He gave her a big smile. “And if you could enter I bet you’d do great Lesmiet.”
Shanelle walked into the library, with a new book on her hands. She was one of the very few Hufflepuffs who likes to read and she was looking for a quiet spot to sit down as well as someone to talk to.
“See you!” He said and gave her a wave. He smiled to himself as he watched her go.
Taryn saw Shanelle walk in. “Hey you.” He said as he walked up to the fellow prefect.
Shanelle saw Taryn walking up to her. "Hi, Taryn! How are you doing?" She was surprised to see her fellow prefect here in the library.
“I’m doing great. Just met a very nice second year Ravenclaw. How are you doing?”
"A young Ravenclaw, eh?" She said. "I am doing fine, I am just here to get some reading done before Quidditch practice. You?"
“Just here finishing my History of Magic homework. There was a book I needed for it in here. And here it is.” He said as he turned around and quickly grabbed the book he was gonna grab before meeting Lesmiet.
"History of Magic homework?" Shanelle fumbled around for her own homework, a 3 inches Potions essay. "This is due tomorrow and I have not started yet. Do you want to work together?" She asked, pointing to a table nearby.
“Sure!” He replied enthusiastically. It would be nice to have someone to work with. And Shanelle seemed really cool from what he knew of her.
Shanelle grinned, she walked over to the table and sat down. "I always like to work with someone else." She said, pulling a parchment and a quill out.
“Me too. Helps pass the time.” He said and sat down by her. “Okay now into question 12. The witch trials of 1692.” He said with a slight groan. “Professor Binns class is so hard to follow along with. Most of the time I just space out. Hence having to read all this stuff to figure out the questions.”
"The witch trails......." Shanelle realised that she was a year younger and probably haven't learned this material in History of Magic. Luckily, she have been reading the textbooks and she might know what is going on. "It happened in 1692 and 1693, in Massachusetts. Muggle executed people who were accused of witchcraft, some being actual witches. And that is pretty much everything I know." She hoped that had helped.
Taryn thought for a second. “Yeah that actually does help a lot actually.” He said and started writing, deep in thought. “Thank you.” He said looking up for a second then back to his paper. He wasn’t the smartest wizard out there but once he had an idea he sure loved to write.
Shanelle smiled, she always loved to help. While Taryn worked on his, Shanelle dipped some ink on her quill and started on her Potions essay. "Moonstone...." She wondered out loud. She remember bits from the lesson but was unsure what to write down.
“Moonstone. Isn’t that used in Draught of Peace and love potions and stuff?” He said. Distracted for a second from his paper. “Could be useful.” He thought out loud.
"Yes! That was what I missed, the potions it is used in. Thanks Taryn." Shanelle quickly scribbled it down in her best handwriting.
“Oh please call me Ryn. All my friends call me that.” He said giving her a small smile.
"Hmmm, I don't really have a nickname so you can just call me Shanelle or whatever nickname you have, Ryn." She added some details to her essay and measured it. 3 inches exactly. "And I'm done! Do you want my help with yours?"
“No that’s okay. I’m almost done anyways.” He wrote down a few more notes and closed his book. “Thank you for the help though. I would be spending another hour or so in here if it weren’t for you. And don’t worry, I’ll come up with a good nickname for you.”
Shanelle grinned. "Nice to hear that. Well, good luck with finishing. I'd better be gone now, I have a meeting with my friends soon. I hope to see you soon!" She said as she picked up her stuff and left.
“Bye!” He yelled after her and smiled. Shanelle was a really good friend to have. He thought as he gathered his stuff and walked out of the library.
