Megara Ryan (megararyan) | 2 comments I thought that "Down Comes the Night" by Allison Saft was good!

adriana | 1 comments I read “Punk 57”, it’s pretty good and it fits the category! Lmk if you’ve read it.

Mirna (mnsalim) | 1 comments So I just binged the Legacy of the Nine Realms series by Amelia Hutchins. The first book is called Flamed of Chaos. This series is INSANE. This is truly 100% an enemies-to-lovers book. Like super hard core enemies. Hella toxic actually. It's not your typical light enemies to lovers kinda book. But I was hooked. Anyways heed my warning. This book is toxic. BUT that being said, it's still absolutely delicious. The romance is raw and hella passionate.... I'm talking butterflies socking you in the stomach ...anywaysssss ya'll better message me if you read it lol.

M.S. | 1 comments I finally broke down and read Daughter of the Pirate King that everyone is talking about on Booktok. Excellent banter! I was literally laughing out loud and couldn’t wait the for the enemies to lovers part to kick in. Finished the second book shortly after. A nice duology that doesn’t just jump into the romance.

The twisted kingdoms is also not bad. It’s not the best written book but the concept is cool and I really appreciate the slow burn. I’m not a huge fan of the usual formula: fall in love in book 1, relationship problems in book 2. This series draws the enemies to lovers out over three books. You know it’s going to happen but it’s also kind of nice that it takes a while. And it works for the story.

Carolina (caro_sanchez) I read Blood Heir and it was... meeh, have anyone else read it?

message 7: by Alethea (new)

Alethea Graham | 1 comments Marion Blackwood's The Oncoming Storm series is amazing!!!!! It is a bit of a slow burn in the romance development but it truly is worth the wait, and the banter between the enemies/secretly in love but too stubborn to admit it, is enjoyable to read and honestly had me laughing at 3am. Let me know if anyone reads it, would love to hear what you think. :)

Alissa (thealissadecimalsystem) | 6 comments I just finished reading the first two books in the Black Sails series by Clare Sager and love the enemies to lovers. It's almost a great mix of pirates, fae, and Uncharted (the video game).

message 9: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Mikkelsen | 1 comments bully from the fall away series by Penelope Douglas i really good, just any book by Penelope Douglas, L.J. Shen or Elle Kennedy is good!

I didn't like it, honestly, I hate it. the book had a good potential at the beginning but then I got bored, all those s** scenes were kinda unnecessary in my opinion.

TotallyTashi | 1 comments Recently finished the Madison Kate series. Definite enemies to lovers … and the spice 🤤

message 13: by Ceci (new)

Ceci I just finished reading "The Spanish Love Deception" by Elena Armas and it is SO GOOD. As soon as the enemies to lovers part kicked in, my heart was in so much pain(in a good way). Every interaction between the two characters left me in a smiling mess with butterflies. I can't express how much I recommend it.

message 14: by jkyn (new)

jkyn "The Hating Game" by Sally Thorne and "Today, Tonight, Tomorrow" by Rachel Lynn Solomon are some of my favourite enemies/rivals-to-lovers reads this year :)

Elita ₊✩ˎˊ˗ I've read so many this year that I've loved but the ones that stand out the most are "Cruel Idols" by Sorcha Black, "Devious Lies" by Parker S. Huntington and "Anything You Can Do" by R.S. Grey. "Cruel Idols" is an enemies to lovers MMF that includes the forced proximity trope, great banter and the hottest steamy scenes ever. "Devious Lies" gets a lot of heat for being overly long (700+ pages) but I loved every second of it. The characters and story are super well-developed. It's an enemies to lovers workplace romance with witty banter. "Anything You Can Do" is a romcom about two characters who've grown up as rivals. It's hilarious and the banter is top-notch. If any of you have read the following, hit me up. I'd love to talk about them in-depth :)

taylor reynolds | 3 comments I’ve read and loved so many books from this trope, but I’ll have to say, my all time favourite book that’s enemies to lovers is: Beautiful Disaster #1 by Jamie McGuire. It’s a good old college NA chick lit that is about a “good girl” named Abbey Abernathy who gets conned-ish into a bet against the angsty, bad boy Travis Maddox. If she loses she has to spend a month in his apartment, but if she wins, he has to remain abstinent for the same amount of time, no take backs. The “enemy” perspective is more in Abby’s conscious where she absolutely despises- yet is attracted to- Travis. The build up of tension (which leads to some steamy scenes) and heart breaking moments that is witnessed throughout the book is to die for and cry for. (There’s also a Travis POV in Walking Disaster #1.5 -SOOO GOOD *sobbing*)

Another amazing book is Pretty Reckless by L.J. Shen. It’s a high school NA romance that ticks off all the boxes you need in a enemies to lovers trope. From absolute hatred, explosive chemistry, and the feeling of having your heart getting ripped out of your chest. It follows a teenage girl named Daria Followhill who is described as being an absolute biyatch, rich, and has many enemies. She broke a poor boys heart years ago and now it’s biting her back in the ass, that “boy” (who is now a hot man, and is her enemy in every way possible) is named Penn Scully- and he’s her foster brother. *sigh* I love forced proximity for some reason. It also has multiple perspectives, including: Daria’s Mother and Father, Penn and of course, the Queen herself, Daria Followhill.

WARNING: Clear away if you want YA and very limited steamy scenes. Both books are NA Contemporary Romance.

Sarah (sarahlyncee) | 2 comments thanks!

message 22: by Annie (new)

Annie | 7 comments Naked Love by Jewel E. Ann is another one bed I can think of off the top of my head. I think Unhoneymooners and The Love Hypothesis have situations of one bed. The Love Hypothesis isn’t exactly enemies to lovers but it’s a wonderful swoon story.

message 23: by maya ☆ (new)

maya ☆ | 2 comments actually the love hypothesis doesn’t have a one bed scene but it still is a really good book and is such a cute romance!!

message 24: by Annie (new)

Annie | 7 comments Oops I confused one bed with same hotel room- my bad!
