Readathon Team: Fellowship of the R(ead)ing

It is one of my all-time favorite books. Such an imagination she has!!

I added an x on the planning sheet for the prompt "two or more people reading together." One character was reading out loud to another character, ..."
What did you think of that book? I loved it when I read it over 30 years ago!

Welcome, Rebekah! That's great! What a huge help! Is the author Pat Robertson? I'm always curious about books that are new to me! :)
From message 119 above...
Here are the detailed instructions...
On the Planning page:
(1) Post each book you are currently reading in a separate column as follows:
*Book title (your name) at top of the column
*Possible Fits: place a lowercase "x" in every prompt your book fits
*When you finish the book, highlight your book title/name cell as well as the prompt you selected (out of the possible fits). Any kind of highlighting is fine (like changing the cell color), but the whole team should use the same method. PLEASE JUST USE THE GREEN COLOR DIRECTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE BLUE COLOR CURRENTLY BEING USED
On the Tracking page:
*Find your name at the top of one of the columns. You will be adding your pages read/hours listened by day and any books you've finished that fits a prompt.
*When you finish a book, add the book title in your column in the row of the appropriate prompt. Be sure to type Yes or Completed in the rightmost "Completed?" column so the spreadsheet will include your book in the total prompts completed.
*If you finish a single-book task or read the final book for a multi-book task, please also go to the Planning page to highlight that task so your teammates will know it's been completed.
The tabs for the PLANNING and TRACKING spreadsheets are at the bottom left-hand corner...
Please post here with any questions you may have...
And if you are completely flummoxed, please just post a request for either Theresa or myself to enter the information for you. :)

Of course! Happy to do so! And congratulations! I thought this was such a powerful book when I read it 6 years ago. I have another Erdrich book planned for this year as well. I hope you're enjoying it!

Which prompt would you like this to be counted for?

It is only the close of day 3 and we have read over 2,000 pages, listened to over 6 hours of audiobooks and earned 2 wild cards! We will have fulfilled 9 prompts once I get The Round House assigned for Jennifer! YAY US!!!
I should complete at least 150-200 pages in The Secret History before going to bed tonight. My goal this weekend is to finish it and another 2 of the shorter books. We'll see how that plays out. :)
I was busier with other stuff today than I thought I would be, but don't have to go anywhere tomorrow, so am anticipating a good reading day, barring any unforeseen emergencies!
Let's keep pluggin' along! Thank you for being on this team!

Omg that’s amazing!! I’ve definitely been busy the past couple of days, but I will get to as much reading as I can! Thank you for all your help Lynn :)

Hey, Jennifer! This isn't a matter of messing anything up! :)
You can select whichever prompt you wish it to count for or I can assign a prompt to it. The main reason I ask that all POSSIBLE prompts be marked on the planning spreadsheet is that at the end if we need to reassign some books to better enable completion of the challenge, it will be easier. As I recall there are several parties or anniversary celebrations in the book. Or at least one. Is that true? We could use it for that prompt for now, completing 2 of the 4 prompts for that task.

Confession: I spent at least 5 minutes hunting for Saving Shiloh this morning. I KNEW I had put it somewhere it would be easily found... Ha! Ha! I looked and looked and then sat back down in my 'reading chair' to discover it was in the stack next to the chair... It's tough gettin' old! :)
I hope you are better organized than I obviously am! On to Saving Shiloh and A Shiloh Christmas for 2 prompts in the book in a series of 4 books task!\
I trust your day is going well!

I liked this story. I have had it, for six weeks, from the library, waiting for the read-a-thon. Now I'll give it back. :)

That would be amazing, Theresa! Thank you! The only one I have on hand that would qualify is Frankenstein which would be fine except I'm not sure I would have time to read it! YAY!!

At the time I read this I could really relate to her life seeming to be so routine and humdrum with little to no excitement. I could relate to being attracted to a man other than my husband. As far as having an affair with that man, I couldn't relate to that! LOL

3 books you shelved in the month you joined this group.
Got a good chunk of Addie LaRue done!

Amazing!!

A recap of Day #4-March 28:
We have read a total of 3,622 pages, listened to a total of 13.8 hours of audiobooks, earned 3 wild cards AND completed 12 of 50 prompts! Whoo! Whoo!
I'll be anxious to see where we are at the end of week #1! We've made phenomenal progress, IMO! YAY for US!
Just finished A Shiloh Christmas (Shiloh #4)! I love Naylor's writing and this series in particular. That makes the very last task half done with 2 of the 4 books that are part of a 4-book series. I'll read Gathering Blue (The Giver #2) and then we can use one of the other two that Pamela and SarahKat listed to complete that task. I'm sure the second one will work for other prompts...
I just have to mention that Manni achieved our all-time daily high total for pages read at 612! Yikes! I bet your eyes were tired! Pamela set the daily record of hours of audiobook listening at 3.9 thus far! Wow!
I don't know about you guys, but I am having a blast reading some of these shorter books, especially the juvenile/YA! Though I am trying to be more disciplined now and complete The Secret History before starting anything else!
And, not to forget, we now have 3 wild cards to help us along!
Happy reading, all!

I used it for the “bibliophile, bookworm, libraries, bookshop” prompt as the main character is an author :)

Cool! Glad you enjoyed it!

Ack! So sorry you are sick! I haven't felt good either...

This team has now completed 16 of 50 prompts!
We now have 6 wild cards to use!
We have read a total of 4,918 pages (Only 82 more to reach 5,000!) and listened to a total of 23.08 hours of audiobooks!
I was hoping that by the end of week 1 we could have at least 25 prompts completed and since we now have 22 (16 + 6 wild cards) I think we'll make that goal! We'll be half done! :)
You guys are awesome! Just plugging away as we can we'll make it! :)
Happy Tuesday and Happy Reading, Fellowship Fellows!! :)

Hi, Rebekah! I took the liberty of adding this to the spreadsheet for you! Just let me/us know when you have more to add!
Thank you for your participation and help with this event! Glad to have you on our "Fellowship" team!

Meant to ask. How was it?

I finished my 2nd book today which was
The Bookshop on the Corner - which will fit these prompts:

Read 2 books with over 25,000 ratings each on Goodreads,
Read 3 books by an author who has written 25 or more
books,
Read 4 books that feature a bibliophile, bookworm, librarian,

This is great, Meghna! I hope you enjoyed the book!
I placed this information on the spreadsheets. You had done part of it. :)

Although it was a Tuesday, we read a total of 577 pages and listened to a total of 10.7 hours of audiobooks! And Jennifer set a new daily record of listening to 8.21 hours of audiobooks! Wow!!
And amazingly, we have now fulfilled 20 prompts and earned 7 wild cards! We now have a total of 27 prompts fulfilled!! That is wildly wonderful!! It surpasses my hope that we could complete 25 prompts by the end of week 1!!
Later today, I will compile listing of the specific books we had planned for specific prompts. Then we can discuss our final strategy. :)
BTW, today is my birthday!! YAY!! I will be working all day from home and then must teach at the gym this evening, So probably won't get a ton of reading time. However, I am working to finish The Secret History next. Then I'll start Magpie Murders since it is/almost "was" a March buddy read! (I will obviously finish it in early April!)
How are you-all feeling about this event?

Happy Birthday Lynn!! 🎉🎉🎉
I feel like we're doing great as a team! I had a bunch of unanticipated work stuff come up this month, so I haven't gotten as much reading done personally as I wanted to at this point, but I did only pledge 4 so I will definitely meet that at least!
I'm almost done with the work stuff so I think I'll be able to read more the next few days.
I should be finishing these 3 by this weekend:
Leven Thumps and the Ruins of Alder
An Ember in the Ashes
A Court of Silver Flames

Happy Birthday Lynn!! 🎉🎉🎉"
Thank you! And I just have to ask...where/how do you obtain these little graphics to post?

I agree!
Ah, work! That nasty stuff takes us away from reading... :( Whatever...
Finishing those three books would be such a great contribution to the cause!! :)

I just right-click the comment box and there's an "emoji" option. I don't think it works on the app, and it also probably depends on your browser maybe? I use Google Chrome.

Spring Break is finally here for me, which means no school, which means more reading time! I’ll definitely be able to get through more books this next week. I will also be starting The Guest List today!
