Readathon Team: Fellowship of the R(ead)ing

I have a question - how do I figure out how many languages a book has been translated into? Is there a simple way of doing so on Goodreads?"
There's the link, Anu! Thank you, Jennifer!

Also, please note that if you FINISH a book during the readathon you must read at least 100 pages of the book (or two hours of an audiobook) AND you can only count the number of pages read/number of hours listened to during that 2-week period.
So, if I have 150 pages left in The Secret History by tomorrow and I finish the book tomorrow, I can only list the 150 pages read tomorrow for the readathon. I hope that makes sense. :)
If you have 2 hours of listening left on an audiobook and you finish it during the readathon, you can only list those last 2 hours.

For me, the planning is almost as much fun as the reading!
Go team, go!!!!

Oh I don’t believe I saw that sorry! I am under 25, if we need a book for “wish to read at 25,” I could use Little Fires Everywhere or The Four Winds for that prompt. Anything works :)

Perfect! Thanks so much!

Great! And I'm jealous! Kristin Hannah is one of my favorites! :)

of course!!

Ahah I love Kristen Hannah's books as well! The Great Alone is one of my all time favorites :)

I believe that is correct. Don't know why not! :)

I have not yet read The Great Alone but any of hers I've read I loved!

Excellent! That is so tricky! I probably would have completely overlooked that!! :)

Here is the listing she posted:
2.Read a book that features a bibliophile, bookworm, librarian, or bookshop. The Tutor
4.Read a book about making new friends. The Cherished Quilt
11.Read a book with at least 25 chapters or sections. The End of the Age
13.Read a book either published in 2012 or included in the Best Books of 2012 listopia. Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking.
15.Read a book with over 25,000 ratings on Goodreads. The Dovekeepers
I trust she will use the link I provided to join us here! :)

Thanks.
Pippi longstocking -which will fit these prompts:
Read a book which has been translated into 25+ languages.
Read 3 books by an author who has written for 25 or more
years.

Thanks.

That is amazing, Meghna! Whoo! Whoo!
Here are the detailed instructions...
On the Planning page:
(1) Post each book you are currently reading in a separate column as follows:
*Book title (your name) at top of the column
*Possible Fits: place a lowercase "x" in every prompt your book fits
*When you finish the book, highlight your book title/name cell as well as the prompt you selected (out of the possible fits). Any kind of highlighting is fine (like changing the cell color), but the whole team should use the same method. PLEASE JUST USE THE GREEN COLOR DIRECTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE BLUE COLOR CURRENTLY BEING USED
On the Tracking page:
*Find your name at the top of one of the columns. You will be adding your pages read/hours listened by day and any books you've finished that fits a prompt.
*When you finish a book, add the book title in your column in the row of the appropriate prompt. Be sure to type Yes or Completed in the rightmost "Completed?" column so the spreadsheet will include your book in the total prompts completed.
*If you finish a single-book task or read the final book for a multi-book task, please also go to the Planning page to highlight that task so your teammates will know it's been completed.
The tabs for the PLANNING and TRACKING spreadsheets are at the bottom left-hand corner...
Please post here with any questions you may have...

Instead, I'll read Queen of Hearts, which is the 25th book on my TBR. That's the ONLY prompt I know for sure it will fit though.
I can change again if need be before I start on that one. Currently working on 3 others.

Instead, I'll read [book:Queen of Hea..."
Great! I'll make those changes on my own listing!

If you are totally unfamiliar with spreadsheets and uncomfortable trying to update your information on them. Theresa or I can do so for you.
However, I would encourage you to at least try to do so yourself, if at all possible.
Theresa or I will happily answer any questions about them you may have, or we'll get the information to provide to you if we don't know. :)
HAPPY READING! One book already finished for the Fellowship of the R(ead)ing Team!!

Just a reminder to highlight the book and the prompt you feel it best fits given the team's needs on the planning spreadsheet as well as listing the number of pages/hours on the tracking spreadsheet. (Please leave all possible prompts for each book on the planning spreadsheet, only highlighting the one prompt you feel each book fits best.)
Be sure to scroll down on the tracking spreadsheet to highlight the cell you have fulfilled and scroll to the right to list "completed" in the "completed?" column.
We're doing well so far!! Keep reading, "fellows"!!

Sounds good! I used The Queen of Nothing for the 'Party or Anniversary Celebration" prompt. I will hopefully start Verity tomorrow :)

Yipee!! Yahoo!!
Excellent first 24 hours! Excellent progress! :)

That is excellent, Manni! What did you think of the book? I don't know that I've encountered that series before...

The Folk of the Air is an amazing series! I loved the characters and world building, and am still recovering haha :)

It's for the prompt
Read 2 books with a scene of two or more people reading together
Now I'll be starting Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

A bit of a 'book hangover'?!? :) That series certainly has high ratings!

What did you think of Magic Hour? Was the two people reading together a parent and child? Or a different combination?
I bet The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue will be good!

It's for the prompt

Please feel free to go ahead and highlight in green the prompt you would most like your book to be counted for. As long as you leave the listing of the other prompts for which it could be used, that works! However, if you know based upon our discussions and the listings I provided that a specific book you've finished was meant for a specific prompt, then just list that, if you wish. As in Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer which I read yesterday specifically for the "Read a book you read in 2012" prompt since no one else had a book that would fulfill that prompt.
However, do not hesitate to holler if you need help "spreadsheeting"! :)

I really liked the book, was the first Kristin Hannah book I have read. Will definitely be reading more.
It was a caregiver reading to a child, there were a few scenes where they read together.
I think I did the spreadsheet correct, please let me know if I didn't

I haven't finished a book yet. I told my husband he is going to have to watch the kids for a good chunk of time this weekend so I can catch up!

Ah, SarahKat! There is no 'catching up' required. :) Just read what you can read! As long as you're having fun, goal accomplished, IMO! :)

I'll check the spreadsheet tomorrow morning... :)

Glad you enjoyed Hannah's book!
It looks as if you still need to scroll down on the tracking spreadsheet to enter the book you finished at the correct prompt and then enter "Completed" in the corresponding cell on the extreme right in the Completed? column. :) Okay, now I'm off to bed!

I highlighted my book, and the prompt it filled green, but I'm not seeing a 'completed' column. Might need some help with that sorry

Exactly like a book hangover! I feel a bit better though haha :) I’ll definitely start verity tomorrow, I didn’t get much time to read today :(

I hope you enjoy this one! I loved Addie LaRue!

I personally enjoyed the first one, though I definitely felt like the series became better with the second and third books!

Ooh I hoped you liked this one! It’s high up on my tbr :)

I added an x on the planning sheet for the prompt "two or more people reading together." One character was reading out loud to another character, so I guess that counts. I did not use the prompt for this book, only added the x in case things need moved around, at some point.
I used one out of two "a title consisting of 25 characters minimum, excluding spaces."
I intend to add number of pages read later, since I may or may not start my next book.

It's the second time I've read it. One of my all-time favorites!

Ooh sounds great!! I'm super excited to read it :)

Just to clarify, the "Completed?" column is to the far right (just after column 10) in the TRACKING spreadsheet, not the planning spreadsheet. Looks as if you found it or Theresa or I filled it for Magic Hour.

I think there was a posting about that in the Readathon Central thread. I can try to find it later today if I have time.
