No one else has a book that fits this prompt and it is a single one, so if you will read this book that will fulfill this..."
I removed my books that fit the translated prompt and instead will be reading Invisible Life, and Magic Hour :)

SarahKat might be able to use A Court of Silver Flames for one of the 3 prompts in the trios category of reading at age 25. Then your book could fulfill this prompt.
"Read a book published in 1996. Angela's Ashes."
Pamela had listed We Were the Mulvaneys for this prompt. But...I have read Angela's Ashes so it could fulfill the very first task Read a book read by a teammate for this readathon. And we didn't have anything for that one!

There are already two "L" books listed, but we do NOT have a book whose title starts with "Y" yet! You could fulfill that prompt for this task!
"Read 2 books in a series, one with at least 12 books and one with at least 25 books. (12)Trouble In Paradise (25)Without Remorse"
Theresa has already listed Hardcore Twenty-Four for the series of 25 or more books prompt, so Trouble In Paradise would fulfill the 12-book series prompt.

Great leading!

Oh, my! This would also work for the first task of reading a book one of your teammates has read. That would be me! This is one of my favorite books ever! It was also published in 2012, though I think we have enough for that one. I can't remember, but it might work for the two people reading together task? Or maybe they just listened to music together... Definitely has over 25,000 ratings and it is all about making new friends.
"Read 2 books with over 25,000 ratings each on Goodreads. Twilight"
We currently have 9 of these that would qualify and it is for just one book. Any other tasks/prompts it would fulfill?

There are currently only 2 of these listed...
"Read the 12th and 25th books on your TBR list. (12)Otherworld or (25)Glimpses of Heaven"
No one has listed any for this yet. So both of these would be good!

We currently have 3, but having another wouldn't be a bad idea and it may qualify for something else we'll need! :)
"Read 3 books by an author who has written 25 or more books. I, Robot"
There are two currently listed that would fit the above prompt as well and just two others, so a third would be good...
"Read 3 books you shelved during the month you joined this group. The Book of Lost Things"
There is currently only one other and it will fit another more unique category as well, so this would be a great addition!
"Read 4 books in a series of 4 (25% of a series).The Mind Thieves"
This would help for this task as well!

Thanks so much for listing 12/21/12! That will be a huge help! :)
You had so many great suggestions/possibilities listed!

More detailed instructions on the spreadsheet, please?
On the Planning page:
(1) Post each book you are currently reading in a separate column as follows:
*Book title (your name) at top of the column
*Possible Fits: place a lowercase "x" in every prompt your book fits
*When you finish the book, highlight your book title/name cell as well as the prompt you selected (out of the possible fits). Any kind of highlighting is fine (like changing the cell color), but the whole team should use the same method.
On the Tracking page:
*Find your name at the top of one of the columns. You will be adding your pages read/hours listened by day and any books you've finished that fits a prompt.
*When you finish a book, add the book tile in your column in the row of the appropriate prompt. Be sure to type Yes or Completed in the rightmost "Completed?" column so the spreadsheet will include your book in the total prompts completed.
*If you finish a single-book task or read the final book for a multi-book task, please also go to the Planning page to highlight that task so your teammates will know it's been completed.

As you are reading, do not hesitate to mark additional prompts/tasks each book can fulfill. I inevitably discover way more prompts to fulfill in almost every book I read

Here was the question thread...
Trisha wrote: "Alison wrote: "Another Question...my own this time :)
If a teammate lists a book they are going to read and you have read that book in the past (within the last year or so), can you count that book "read a book ..."
Alison, the latter! You need to read (or reread) a book that is being read by another member for our readathon. :)"
****
That was how I initially interpreted this task, but then figured it couldn't mean that two team members had to read the same book...
So if I understand you correctly, two team members are reading the same book for this readathon, correct? If so, can they each count that same book for two different prompts/tasks?
Which was the question I intended to ask when I landed here, then I read each posting in the thread. I have two team members who want to read the same book so I wasn't sure if we could do that and then use each one for a different task/prompt or not. :)
*****
Trisha's response:
Yes Lynn, two members can read the same book and tick off two different prompts/tasks. In fact, in order to fill prompt A book read by a teammate for this readathon, you have to read a book that someone else is reading, there's no other way to achieve this!

Tomorrow I will post some of the categories we specifically seem to need to concentrate on fulfilling as well as those where we appear to have an overabundance!
Also, please do not hesitate to post when you know of a book you've already read that would perfectly fulfill one of the less popular tasks/prompts! You never know when one of the other team members may really want to read that book for the readathon. It already happened once with The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue!
Now, to get a bit of reading done before bed! :) Happy Reading!

Also, Red Queen (YA fantasy) could fill the prompt "book in series of 4," if anyone is interested :)

Thanks for that information!

Thank you!

Anu had pledged to read two books in the sign-up thread and Rebekah had pledged 5 books.
I hope they're both okay and will be able to participate.

Unfortunately the only prompts I think it fills already have quite a few options.

That's fine! You never know what we'll need. Some of the tasks/prompts have many overlapping as well! :)

That's so cool! :)

Fun! I joined in February of 2017 and I only have ONE book on my TBR that was added then. It also happens to be the 12th on my TBR. I could potentially read it, but I'm not sure yet. It's a bit long. Going to see how the other ones I had planned go first.

Thank you!"
Oops I think this was me, I’ll fix it!

Thank you!"
Thank you so much, Manni! :)

How do you see when you joined the group? I estimated mines at December 2020 but I’m not totally sure

Hi Manni. Follow the link and search using the name you use here.
https://www.goodreads.com/group/58421...

Oh thank you so much! I got the month right haha :)

1) Read a book which has been translated into 25+ languages (Only need one!)
You-all seem to have found a ton of these! 😊
2) Read a book with at least 25 chapters or sections (Only need one!)
Again, I believe we will have many books to choose from to fulfill this prompt/task.
3) Read 2 books with over 25,000 ratings each on Goodreads
There are many books listed already that qualify here!
4) Read 3 books by an author who has written for 25 or more years
We currently have 3 listed, but be sure to double-check each of your books’ authors to be sure! 😊
5) Read 3 books by an author who has written 25 or more books
We currently have 4 listed, but be sure to check each of your books’ authors. I have some I could easily read but don’t know that I’ll have time to do so.
6) Making new friends
I have found that many books can be used for this type of prompt.
7) Read 4 books that feature a bibliophile, bookworm, librarian, or bookshop
We currently have 6 books listed so hopefully this will be fulfilled…

Things to watch for as you read:
Many of these are prompts/tasks you may well discover as you read a book but may not know until you’ve read it!
1) A book written when the author was under 25 years old (I assume this means the book has to have been published before the author reached 25 years of age.)
I would check this for each book you are reading for the Readathon, just to be sure. We only need one! I believe Frankenstein is available free, if you are interested in reading it.
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi would work.
Here is a listing of 10 authors who published under the age of 25: https://irisreading.com/10-famous-aut.... Note that you have to select a specific book that qualifies.
2) Read a book with the word ‘silver’ in the title or with a silver cover
We only need one, but we only have one and it qualifies to fulfill many different prompts! Just keep it in mind…
3) Read 2 books with a scene of two or more people reading together
We currently only have one listed (and another two maybes). I’m betting at least another person will discover their book fulfills this prompt, but try to be aware to watch for it! 😊
4) Read 2 books starting with “L,” (12th letter) and "Y" (25th letter) of the alphabet
We currently have 4 “L” books, but no “Y” books. Just be on the lookout.
5) Read 2 books in a series, one with at least 12 books and one with at least 25 books
We have only one listed for the 25-book series. Be on the lookout for a book from a 12- or 12+-book series! (I have several but am trying not to overpromise…)
6) Read the 12th and 25th books on your TBR list
We’ll really need to concentrate on these. I have used tricks before, like organizing my TBR by the date added, or the date published, or whatever. Plus, you can list in both ascending and descending order to see if you can find an appropriate book in these positions.
7) Read 3 books: one you wish to read at 25 (if you’re under 25), one you read at that age, and one you'd recommend to your 25-year-old self
There is currently only one listed for the recommend to your 25-year-old self and it is A Court of Silver Flames that we will probably need for the SILVER prompt. I will locate one that I used to read to my sons when I was 25—that will be a children’s book, short and sweet! BTW, is anyone in this group under 25 years of age? If not, we can just repeat one of the other two prompts for this task.
8) Read 3 books you shelved during the month you joined this group
We currently have only 2 listed but I think at least one of those may be needed for a different prompt/task. Probably a good idea to check to see if any book you are planning to read currently works for this one, if you haven’t already done so. Click on “edit membership” at the top and you’ll see what month/year you joined.
9) Read 4 books that include a party or anniversary celebration
Only two listed for this. We need to watch for these events in the books we read. I imagine many of us will discover books that fulfill a prompt for this task… Any party or any anniversary celebration which could include anniversary of a building’s opening or a company’s founding, etc., not just a marriage or relationship…
10) Read 4 books in a series of 4 (25% of a series)
We have 3 listed and I may be able to locate another children’s book that would qualify. I’ll try to do that this weekend and see how I fare…

Please note that each member of our team is to highlight each book and one prompt for that book on the PLANNING spreadsheet when we have completed reading it. This is in addition to completing our daily entries on the TRACKING spreadsheet. Please just use the green color which is located directly to the left of the blue color currently used. That should keep it simple and still provide plenty of contrast.
Any questions? I'll check-in tomorrow morning. Off to read! I am finding The Secret History to be enthralling. I sure wish Tartt had published more in the past. I also loved The Goldfinch. 'Night all!

Read 4 books in a series of 4 (25% of a series)
I'm just worried I might run out of time with my reading list

I added this book to my TBR shelf the month I joined this group, would you like me to hold off finishing it until Thursday so we can use it?

I will also start reading the books n leave the 100 pages for readathon.
And hoping i can read more books..
。^‿^。

I have a question - how do I figure out how many languages a book has been translated into? Is there a simple way of doing so on Goodreads?
Thanks!
Anu

I will be doing the same! Will be starting The Cruel Prince and another one of my books tomorrow :)

Not sure if there is a way to find out on goodreads, but here is a list of books and how many languages the books have been translated into.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...

I honestly don't know, Manni! :(

Actually I checked this morning. I have two of the four books in Naylor's Shiloh series as well as Gathering Blue. (All children's books I can easily read...)
That will be three, which leaves just one for which we should be able to use either Pamela's Radiance or SarahKat's Ember in the Ashes.

I added this book to my TBR shelf the month I joined this group, would you like me t..."
That would be amazing, Pamela! A huge help! :) I started reading A Night to Remember last night and then this morning as I'm reading The Secret History reference was made to a character's relative who had drowned when the Titanic sank! Weird coincidences! :)

Just reading through the thread and will add my updates soon.
Thanks!
