An interesting question for you. Why Hilleman cut off the head of the unborn chick when he was using the chick to study the virus?

The road to vaccine creation is extremely crude in this setting before the establishment of ethical parameters. I found the treatment of rabies and the subsequent experimentation for a vaccine cruel and inhumane.
Chapter 4 has left a lingering effect on me. I may spend the entire weekend (or longer) pondering the existence of jackalopes.
