Doughgirl5562 | 960 comments Well I got my first vaccine shot on Friday! It was very easy for me to get an appt. I got an invitation from my health provider (Health Partners) to make an appt within a few days after Minnesota opened to my group - and you can bet I jumped right on it. I did register to go to a clinic that was about an hour away so that I could get it four days sooner. That ended up almost as a bit of a fiasco - because HP texted me a reminder and a link to the location. I used that texted link for Google Maps ....and it took me more than ten miles OUT OF MY WAY. Therefore making me late. Luckily I was still able to get in and get my shot and it went smoothly from there. But for a while there I was thinking "I drove all of the way across town to Woodbury - practically Wisconsin LOL - and I'm not going to get my shot?!?!? "

Robin P | 5805 comments Yes, Woodbury is the opposite side of the Twin Cities from you. Glad it worked out.

Some things I have read say that the first vaccine shot actually gives a very high degree of protection and that it is ok to have a longer interval before the second one. Of course, most of us just want to get it done asap!

Maybe it's the same everywhere and it will end up being less than four months. In the meantime they will have some protection from the first shot. ..."

Thank you! Yes, I hope so. It is good that at least they are getting their first shot (those "free-range" seniors that they are! LOL!).

Oh yikes! I'm glad you were still able to get your shot.

Will your next one be at the same place? At least, if so, you'll know where you're going. :-)

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8441 comments When I went for shot # 2 I wasn't even going to check online, since I knew where I was going. Fortunately, I DID check early that morning to discover that freeway construction had shut down a major ramp and there were alternate directions. What would normally take just over an hour took me 1 hr 40 min. It's always something....
