Like if you had to choose between a small blurb that barely says anything about the story and a 500 word synopsis for the back of your book with mild spoilers?

500 words is far too long for a synopsis. You should just give enough to make the potential reader want to pick the book up.But this is not really the place for such a discussion. There are numerous author groups on GR that you might like to join.
