Do you use the nonpossessive form of eponyms? Mary mentions using possessive form of eponyms. For the journals I edit, style is to use the nonpossessive form of eponyms. Seems like a controversial (?) topic based on the notes in the AMA manual, too.

We do use the possessive form for some eponyms, eg, Alzheimer's disease. This particular journal uses the APA style guide; I'm not sure how it differs from AMA on this point.
