Ummm, so pretty much, there is this girl--her whole family is super big into Cross Country, but she'd rather do other things. So when her friend says sure to doing it with her...she decides to try it. There is some major rivalry between the younger grades and the main characters, so when she finds out that literally all of the team is younger people, she wants to quit. But when she decides to give them a try and meets a whole bunch of people--she finds out she was wrong to hate the younger grades and becomes friends with them. There is gonna be some boy drama--but I want to add something to keep the reader from leaving the og plot line.

Aww, thanks guys. I'm on Spring Break--and all of my friends are going somewhere so I need SOMETHING to do. So I decided to dedicate a novel about them. :)

Umm, I was writing a Harry Potter Percy Jackson crossover, but I kind of lost steam. Does anyone have any motivating advice?
Umm, find something to focus with. I always use music, but maybe it is listening to something...or...snacking while writing. Whatever helps you focus. I always come up with the best ideas while I'm laying in bed waiting for sleep to come. Always have a fixed point. I have a goal to write 10 pages a day and that can help me stay on task. Another thing is to share your ideas, sometimes all you need is a compliment to fuel yourself. :) Another thing is to not give up, write something that you are CONNECTED to. I almost finished writing a book, it was about 150 pages, but I didn't feel connected to anything because it didn't RELATE to me. Write how you'd feel. While I'm reading I always act like I am the main character and I always wonder what I would do if I picked my own decisions. Write as if YOU are the main character so that you are connected to your writing. Another tip for that is to add elements of your life into the writing so that you are always writing from reality. Also, it makes it more fun as an author because then you can laugh while you remember that memory taking place. Sorry, I don't know if any of that made sense. I just sort of rambled about some things that I have done to help me. OH, I almost forgot to add, SONG LYRICS CAN HELP MOTIVATE YOU!!! I sometimes am blanking on what I want to write next so I just listen to the lyrics to I don't know how to explain here: Song Lyric: "Tell me have you seen a sunset turn into a sunrise..." I can sometimes think: OHHH, what if I make them have a conversation on the beach as the sun is setting?!?! That would be so beautiful!!! Does anything I just said make sense???
Yesss! Thank you! I’m just going to dump my synopsis thing here. Fair warning, my story itself written like a Wattpad fanfic in the beginning, so that heavily affects my summary.Percy and Annabeth wanted a peaceful school year, but of course the gods had to interfere. Hecate sends them to Hogwarts to become teachers for DADA and Ancient Runes.
Harry and his friends are going back to Hogwarts to redo their last year as ‘eighth years’. They are surprised when they meet the new teachers who are barely older than them.
An evil is rising, but wizards and demigods need to work together. Can they figure out how to work with each other or will the world end in chaos?
I haven't really edited anything, so it's pretty bad. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1j...
You should be able to comment, but if you can't access it, I'll try giving you another link.
That’s a great idea!! I was thinking about setting that as my goal too. Which story are you writing for it?
I’m writing fanfiction for The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. I’m planning on it being a Harry Potter crossover, but it’s just the world. The main characters of The Gentleman’s Guide are put into Harry Potter, but there’s no Harry Potter, does that make sense? What are you writing?
Awww, thanks Arwyn_d. Guys, I am so sorry!!! I haven't been very active this week!!! I've been stressing over a test just to find out I was studying the wrong thing--test tomorrow. So, I've been spending all of my free time studying. Which isn't very much because I have track practice after school so, I have been staying up super late, then running a ton cuz I'm doing long distance. So, I'm sorry. I've just been a hot mess this week. Hopefully I will be active Saturday or Friday. :)
Carrlene wrote: "Harvest, do whatever you need! Good luck on your test, and we can’t wait to see you back :)"
I did good on my test!!! I don't know why I was stressing!!! I'm active again. Thank you so much, Carr. That means so much to me. :)

AHHH!!! Okay, I need y’all’s help. I’m still outlining my novel, should I wait to do Camp NaNo in July or plan to just write a rough version of the first act?
I have MOST of my character templates done for my side characters, I really don’t have enough for my mc and villain... I’d have to throw in a LOT of tk’s... and I’ve begun a rough outline, I threw all my ideas out and I’m currently organizing the scenes and sub-plots. I haven’t even started my scene cards so yeah, I’ll probably wait

Carr, I think you need a vacation, you seem to be working really hard. :) But I think that you should wait until July too, if you finish the outline, then you can have more time to just read and enjoy some time doing other things. :)

Thanks you guys! I am actually pretty much taking a break this week because I’ve got so many other things going on, but I’ll be back at it soon and I think I will wait til July for Camp. I really appreciate the advice, good luck to all you April Camp NaNo-ers!

I'm not sure if I'm going to do it. I don't know like anything about it. :)

Ooh here’s a fun one. It’s simple but I had fun with it. Write the story of a deer caught in the headlights from the perspective of the deer
I'm currently writing a drarry fanfiction that I named *draco needs an extremely big hug* in my drafts.
I’m not much of plotter, so it’s this weird Cinderella retelling where Harry is the prince and Draco is Cinderella. I’m not sure where it’s going yet, so suggested would be appreciated 🙂
Do you have an ending in mind? I heard that if you know where you want to end you might have an idea of where you should start. Good luck!
Which setting are you more drawn to and which one could you write without thinking? Whenever I have two options I choose one, but without thinking I go back to the option I didn’t choose. I’m not saying that you have to stay in your comfort zone, but which environment would your characters be better in and which environment would your plot move smoother in? I hope this makes sense :)
