Yeah, like I understand he's the lead singer and everything but I feel like they're following him blindly. Even when they want to make some changes to track listing and other things, he gets the final say. And I don't know whether they are good people if they let Reese treat Amelie like that everyday in band practice.
Nothing can come inbetween Jack and Hannah lolIt's just whenever Amelie says "her" mentioning his current girlfriend, I feel like it could be someone she already knew. Also it's set in a college and maybe they connected after he dumped Amelie ? I don't know, I guess we'll just have to wait to find out 😄
I don't know whether you share the same feeling with me on this, I feel like the Bridge chapter was written to show us that Reese is inconsistent when it comes to showing affection. In my mind, a person like Reese would never set up a Treasure Hunt date like that when they don't exactly fancy a person
I really wish it's Reese's fault. I don't want to see Amelie end things with Alfie as she did with Hannah.
Omg, that must be it. I just felt weird reading the setup like why does he feel the need to do that, but maybe what you said might be the reason. He wanted to hold on to her for some more time and treasure hunt date is too sweet to work out that. Yeah, I agree and I think it might happen sooner now that he is showing his true colours by the end of the bridge chapter. Only three more chapters to go and I feel nervous about how he breaks up with her 😨
I'm absolutely loving it and at the same time really nervous about the next chapter. Even though Amelie has been crying for so long, everytime she cries it really hits my heart and I just wish for someone in the story to hug her and console her at those public places
I hope this book gets one of the good endings. I don't know whether I can bear it if it ended with Reese still successful 😂😞
I didn't know that.. that's why I stay away from YA books because they mostly have bittersweet endings ( which is really good to read when executed perfectly ) but that doesn't mean I want to see it like that 😂
Yeah, I literally cried when she described about the events that happened in that hotel. He should be put in prison for that. I wish Amelie didn't blow off her friends for that stupid jerk.
Omg! I loved the ending. Sure, Reese didn't get the ending I thought he deserved ( I would have loved to just read a epilogue where he just suffers for month 😂 ) but it worked out well with the story. Amelie growing herself again after such a traumatic experience is exactly what we needed to see.
Oh yeah, I noticed that too. For a moment, I thought I missed Reese's pronouns lol. I even checked the book description and it had "He", so I thought maybe you're referring to some other person
Overall it's a solid book with a great story. I just wished she didn't repeat herself throughout the story though. There were a lot of moments where the present Amelie sees the past Amelie while narrating. It was really nice to read that in the first chapter when she said that she could see her past ghost self sitting in that bench and then standing up and walking to home. And that exact description happened in almost all chapters and frankly by the last chapter, I was asking myself why can't she write a different way to describe that feeling 😂
Me too 😭 Amelie just made me cry so many times in the last three chapters and it was harrowing to see her accept that she deserved all the awful things Reese did to her. Thank god Hannah came at the right moment, I would have lost it if she had sacrificed all that growth for that Reese "hit". I can relate to that part of the story where some people still choose to be with the people who harms them so many times just because they think their partner might have grown since the last time.
That was fun to read. And the funniest part is, it happened exactly after you said that you're tired of her when she talked about her feelings and you felt that it was kinda repetitive 😂
I would have given it a 4 star but then Joan came around and I have a soft spot for therapist ( I had to work with one when I had anxiety ), so it's definitely five star for me. Also I loved Sandy and how she treated Amelie. It was my best part in that last chapter other than Hannah's appearance.
Also when she busked on that platform thirteen. That was surreal to read because it's definitely a progressive growth. Amelie from the past would never have done that. I was so happy for Amelie when she did that. It's also nice touch at the end when she added that she's friends with both Jessa and Hannah.
Yeah, in each chapter she lost a part of herself trying to be the girlfriend of the "douchebag extraordinaire" and it was right that it got acknowledged at the end
Yes, but it's not just the gut saving her from committing all that mistake again. Hannah helped too and Alfie and Jessa too for some extent. But I was glad that she recognised everything that was wrong with Reese and their relationship. And I really loved that power struggle with who's replying faster and glad that Amelie didn't flinch atleast for a long time

Do you have any idea on who his current girlfriend is ? I feel like it could be Liv ( one of Hannah's friends )
