Andreia Domingues | 3 comments Book lovers out there, help me choose between two designs for a 'reading challenge tracker' for coursework on 'UX Research'. The survey should take < 5 mins. Thanks! ⏳📚🥰 As book lovers your opinion is the most important!

Andreia Domingues | 3 comments Hi everyone, thanks so much to all the book lovers that have participated! 🥰📚

260 responses in, I have just stopped the response collection from the at-scale survey to choose between a reading challenge tracker. See the live anonymous aggregated data report here https://ql.tc/kAoDTQ

From the 2 options provided for a reading challenge tracker 83% preferred sketch option A, and 17% sketch option B

In reality, option A was the lo-fi sketch of the current live design of Goodreads.com reading challenge (in the survey only the lo-fi black and white sketch was provided), while B a new alternative design.

In the justifications for choosing A instead of B, a common theme is that B adds too much pressure, while a common justification for the people that opted for B is because they prefer the visuals.

In any case, I would be curious for a follow-up. The strong option for A may just be an effect of people being used to using it in real life. Maybe a functional prototype would put different versions on equal footing.

Think the current layout still deserves to be challenged, as it seems that more could be done to increase motivation for achieving reading targets.

Would love to see different suggestions pop up, now that some people were made aware that this could be different.

If you have set a reading target, what would help you achieve it?
