What has changed is that the AFL has canned the one week bye before the Finals start. This was introduced a few years ago to prevent those teams who were already through to the Finals effectively tanking in Round 23 by resting all their best players. But they have left the door ajar for a week off later in the Finals, either before or after the preliminary finals.
Where the Grand Final will be played is still up for debate. We are still in hard Lockdown 6.0 here in Victoria (9.00pm curfew, 5km radius from home for exercise and food/medical outings, schools closed, playgrounds roped off, etc. etc.) It is due to be reviewed on Sept 2 but with only 28% of the whole nation double vaccinated, it seems unlikely we will see a crowd at the MCG for the Grand Final and the AFL is unlikely to let it go ahead without a crowd. Brisbane is looking like the top contender to host.
Speaking of birthdays, it's 1.00am here on August 20th so here's to remembering Lez on the 81st anniversary of her birth. Badly missed and always remembered! Cheers Lez!

I'll tell you something Sj, this was as an exciting game as you'll find. Power were useless in the first half, in the second and third quarter they kept catching up with the Bulldogs, only for the Bulldogs to inch further forward. Then with barely minutes to go, Power went in front, their first and only time. Of course you have to remember that if you have 2 minutes left of the game, the game itself gets stopped for injuries and fouls. Was a really long 2 minutes in this game. Actually cheered out loud when the hooter sounded!
Coincidently, as soon as the game ended I had to leave for work, put me in a right good mood. :-)
