Gail (gailifer) | 2174 comments I am wondering if anyone who owns the actual 1001 book can look up The Albigenses by Maturin for me. There are four volumes to this romance and I would like to confirm that the list includes all four volumes or only the first one. The app only has the name and a page count of 300 pages which is more than volume one and quite a bit less than all four volumes so I am stumped. Any help appreciated. Thank you

MaryAnn (EmilyD1037) I looked in my 2010 edition and the book is not mentioned.

Hi Gail, I looked up in my original 2006 edition and found The Albigenses, but cannot help much. There is no info on the page count of the books included. The text explaining the book starts as the following:
"The narrative of Maturin's final novel, The Albigenses, is based on and episode in the religious wars of thirteenth-century Europe ..."
If you want me to write the rest, I can. Maybe you can conclude by the content if all four volumes are included.

Gail (gailifer) | 2174 comments Thank you Tatjana, I will just assume that they mean all four volumes for now.

Hi Gail. Sorry I don't have insight into this one. Maybe Kristel might. Also maybe some of our super readers might be able to help like the Other Diane or Amanda. Good luck.

Diane | 2044 comments I think it is the version with 4 volumes, but I haven't read it yet. There is a free ebook version on Google but I don't know if it has all four volumes.

Diane | 2044 comments It looks like all 4 volumes are available (separately) in the Internet Archive.

Gail (gailifer) | 2174 comments Thank you both Diane’s....I have started with the internet archive volume one. I suspect that 1001 wants you to read all four....At least it is not like Sea of Fertility where there are four separate books that only count for one book on the list....

I am away from my version but I suspect it won't clarify. I would assume based on page counts what it is but the page counts are by John, not the editors of the book and therefore are also unreliable.

MaryAnn (EmilyD1037) Internet Archive has it 1200+ pages in pdf.
