That’s on my TBR list - everyone I know that’s read it loves it but something about the cover just makes me hesitate to pick it up.

Book: Garrett (Cold Fury Hockey, #2) by Sawyer Bennett
Pages: 278 as per kindle edition in above link
Read: 12 April
Rating: 4⭐️
How it qualifies: Task 4 of the RRC April challenge is April is Stress Awareness Month: We are all living with a bit of extra stress these days so use some time in April to kick back and destress.
Read a book by a favorite author, or a book that you feel will be a great escape from everyday stresses.

Sawyer Bennett is one of my favourite authors and I have attached my read and to read books in the following list
https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
Review: This is book 2 in the cold fury hockey series and has a lot of feels in it. It is a lot heavier than the other hockey books I have read. Garrett is the king of one night stands but falls for Olivia who has just been told she has stage 4 cancer. This is the story of them navigating their way through an early relationship while dealing with some horrific medical situations.

Suzanne | 514 comments I think I'll finish my book tonight - or possibly tomorrow morning. It kind of depends on home and how many students have questions after class :)

Suzanne | 514 comments And April - yes - infants take over life basically :)

message 307: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 514 comments Just wondering since I haven't done this challenge before - but if the rest of us each read 2, does that work so that April wouldn't need to if she's unable?

I'm also FULLY ok with not rushing it!

Maelyn makes a wish that keeps her reliving an annual holiday vacation with family friends, trying to figure out what she's doing wrong/needs to fix. Since Groundhog Day is one of my favorite movies, this story had a lot to live up to for me and it did a pretty darn good job. I really liked the characters, including all the minor/side characters. They added a lot. I also liked that it didn't end how I originally thought it would.

Review: This was great til the end . It's a backstory that we've read bits and pieces of in the first 5 books. And I think it concludes in the 7th. So....the ending was kind of frustrating, but I'm sure all will be better :)

Review: A Tarzan/jungle book type story.
Moira brings Zach to the US from the Amazon where he had been taken at age 7 with his missionary parents. After their death he had become part of an indigenous tribe and adopted their culture and behaviours. Moira sets out to re integrate him into society which is a small part of the story. Zach is very interested in sexual behaviour which forms about 80% of the pages of this book with Zach exploring every sexual experience he can. It’s hot but I would have liked a bit more focus on other aspects also.

It was so different from the hockey book. She did that other slightly strange one as well[bookcover:The Hard Truth About Sunshine|36391631]. This one was basically a sex fest which I’m not opposed to but I do like some substance to the story 😂. You’re right nothing fazed him in the slightest he certainly worked out how to use the internet to his advantage very quickly! The moaning about no job when they went on about his knowledge of geography, maths and history I thought would have led to him being proactive in researching online courses. I also thought Moira was a bit one sided as apart from saying she was an anthropologist and helping Zach reintegrate we didn’t see much else of her in a professional capacity. Talking about it makes me want to drop my rating to a 3 😂

This woman is a MASTER storyteller. She could get me to read any genre she writes in. This duet is fantasy as much as it is romance, and is not one I would have been interested in if it weren't written by Amy Harmon, but she paints beautiful pictures with the simplest of sentences, her characters deep and storylines engrossing.

Review: This is book 6 in the series and the first of 2 parts. It’s dark and twisty and everything I love about Amo Jones. The new generation of Kings are about to take over the gavel and a new threat is lurking. Saint who has been hidden for her own safety by Brantley is now integrating into the group and the feelings that exist between her and Brantley are definitely not only of a protective nature anymore. Ends on a cliffhanger and im desperate for the next one to see how this all plays out!

Review: I had heard this book was great - and I completely agree. Linus works for a corporation that oversees orphanages for magical children. When he is sent by extremely upper management to the house in the title, he has no idea what to expect. The characters in this book are so awesome and complex, especially the children. I couldn't put it down, but now I'm so sad it's over.

This was the second in a duet. I really like these characters and the story lines, both minor and primary, but this one felt like too much was tried to cram into too few pages for the "side" stories while too much back and forth dragging out of the primary storyline.

Review: Macon and Delilah were enemies all their lives. When Delilah’s sister steals his mums watch and allows a stalker to put Macon’s life at risk she steps in to repay him and the hate turns to like, lust then love. Review: This is the final book of the trilogy. It took me a little bit to remember what was going on, but not TOO long, other than I didn't remember/regret the loss of friends from the previous books as much as the characters did. In this one, our main characters need to hurry to get off the planet. I liked Emmet and Mornings relationship a lot because, while they clearly loved each other, it wasn't silly and they made survival a priority. Morning is pretty bad-ass too. I didn't like this one as much as the first two in the series though - I think that's because it was a big resolution of all that had gone on before without twists and turns of its own.
