Task 6 - 2. Each player reads the first book in a series, can be same or different series - no pass for this task.

Book: Butterface (The Hartigans, #1) by Avery Flynn
Pages: 272 as per kindle edition in above link
Read: 26 March
Rating: 3⭐️
How it qualifies: Book #1 in the Hartigan series
Review: This was ok. Gina is not a natural beauty and has some self confidence issues. She kisses Ford and ends up in his hotel room at a wedding she planned after a prank by some of his cop colleagues. Ford realises she is the sister of some of the persons of interest that are part of an OCG. He inserts himself into her life for work purposes but starts to fall for her. It all goes to pieces when she finds out he used her for work but rights itself in the end. Couple of time inconsistencies and a wee bit repetitive on the I’m too ugly monologue.

It took a little bit to get into book but once I got into it I enjoyed it. The end was left as cliffhanger. So maybe I will be able to read the next book.

This was ok - Diana's brother leaves half of his estate to his best friend, who was also Diana's ex lover. I just never felt any sparks between them which made it hard to care if they got back together or not.

Review:
This was one of the group of Dean Koontz books that had a brilliant dog, an evil corporation, and some innocent people. This time one of the people is Woody, an autistic boy who is super-intelligent and investigating his fathers "accidental" death. He and the dog were my favorite characters, but I liked all of the good guys. I wouldn't have minded spending less page time on the bad guys.

WOW! I love this series. Ethan and Jack are one of my favorite romance book couples of all time but their relationship is just a very small part of this action-packed story. I can usually see a plot twist coming but this had a couple that caught me off guard. I don't usually advocate for books to be made into movies, but I feel like this series would make a great movie series as well. I can't wait to for the chance to get to the next book so I'm hoping it fits some challenges soon. :D

MountainKat | 31597 comments Here is your next task!

Task 8 - 58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate.

You can find out when each teammate joined RRRC by looking at the member list for the group. Make sure you use the date one of you joined RRRC, not GR. Select a teammate and then read 6 books initially published in the year they joined RRRC. Make sure you use the initial publication date - if there is a date listed on the top of the editions page use it, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format. Please include the selected teammate and the year they joined RRRC in your completion posts.

Kelly and Britton "Blue," an NFL quarterback, have been best friends since childhood. Kelly has always been in love with Blue but Blue is straight...until he isn't. Something about this story didn't sit right with me. Their chemistry was off and there is something about Blue that I just don't like but I can't put my finger on what it is.
