Rain | 168 comments The first book I ever read was Diary of a wimpy kid. Then I started with a middle grade series called The edge chronicles that got me into fantasy. The first YA book I ever read was Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton. I will forever hold these books in my heart for starting me on my reading path :)

I love this topic. So When I was a child what got me hooked was geronimo stilton. The whole series will forever be in my heart it was such a classic book that was so fun and enjoyable to read. I would sit in my room for hours with my nose glued to the pages. I could finish at least 5 books. I think that's when I knew reading was my thing. Eventually, though my eyesight got worse and worse as time went on from reading in the dark. I stopped reading for a while picked it up in grade 6 with TMI, Divergent (books 1-3), and some other YA books but with my school workload, I couldn't read as much anymore. Fast forward to today where I am in my senior year of High school. I picked up my love of reading and at first, it started with Finally finishing TMI but what really got me addicted again and out of my reading slump was Renegades by Marrissa Meyer. I also read Lord of the Flies for my English class and surprisingly the book was amazing. ofc it was slow at times which is fine bc my teacher provided us with the audiobook.
Sorry, this was so long. Please stay safe everyone!

Resistance started me. I got it in 3rd grade for the damn necklace and gave the book to my cupboard filled with unwanted junk. In fifth grade, we were studying the Holocaust and Nazis and sad stuff, and I didn't understand why the Nazis were doing these things (which I still dunno today), so I opened the cupboard and took out this book about Nazis. Then I instantly fell in love. I reread it and reread it so many times, that I got papercuts. AND my parents even bought the Harry Potter series for me to read later. I was shook by all this book attention they were giving me, but I would say it is mostly because I never read and they were happy I read something in my life.

Yuna Leek I've loved reading ever since kindergarten but I think what turned me into like, a super bookworm was The Screaming Staircase, and the rest of the Lockwood and Co. series.

It was my first time having friends who were reading the same books as me, and who also loved reading. We had our own mini book club, sort of. And it sort of brought me into like, the fanbase side of reading.

ohmygod, rainbow magic & thea stilton are also two of the series that got me into reading. i remember in 1st grade, no one was actually interested in reading rainbow magic. they just wanted to show off that they had fairy books!

Harry Potter
I was hesitant to read it as I HATED to read and one day I just decided to do it and I started to love books!

BiBookDemon I've always loved to read, but I think that the Bloody Jack series and The Mortal Instruments series multiplied my passion for books by a trillion times more.
