Oranges and Lemons - Christopher Fowler - 4 stars

The full title of this book is Bryant & May: Oranges and Lemons. I love this series about 2 Golden Age English detectives who are still working in the modern era. The first book is Full Dark House but the series doesn't hit its comic stride till after that. I think the author didn't expect it to become a series. The mysteries are usually very odd, but that is kind of the point. There is a whole cast of quirky characters and the city of London is a character in itself in most of the books. The author sort of painted himself into a corner by having the main guys start out at around 80 years old and then writing for another 10 or 15 years. So he keeps having to fudge their past and remind us that they might have exaggerated it. Still very fun.
