TART Challenge - Round 3 - Rainbow Dash (2)

Task #3: Read a minimum of 750 pages in books tagged/shelved as children

Book: Trouble & the Wallflower
Pages: 200
Qualification: Tagged “Children” by 10 people
Date Read: 3/21/21
Rating: 3 Stars
Review: I struggled a bit with this mainly because Gavin’s asshole moments just kept happening over and over again. I can only forgive him so many times and when you have a guy as sweet as Davy, you want someone better for him. That said, I felt like these characters were incredibly real because they weren’t perfect and didn’t fit together perfectly. I admire Gavin’s commitment to keep trying to do better by Davy. I also appreciated Gavin’s friend group being there for Davy, sticking up for him and being bluntly honest with Gavin when he was being an asshole instead of simply siding with him because they were his friends. Overall, I did enjoy reading this but it didn’t stand out as anything extraordinary.

A fast paced action flick. The storyline is a bit OTT and cheesy, but its funny and keeps you engaged. Good for one time read.

Laks, I did have a bit of a problem with one of her other series feeling a bit too sappy for me. It was The Prince and His Bedeviled Bodyguard but it grew on me a bit and I enjoyed it for the fluff that it was. I just don’t read a ton of fluffy/sappy books.
I feel like the vibes of THIRDS is a lot different when compared to Paranormal Princes so if you decide to give another series of hers a try down the road, I’d suggest that one!

Review: I was a bit hesitant to read this one because it's one of Charlie's earlier works but I'm so glad I decided to give it a chance (Ha! Chance!)
All the characters in this book were wonderful (even when they were terrible or made awful decisions) and there was so much growth and development for all of them. Even the boys who were “side characters” grew so much throughout this. I look forward to getting Jonathan’s story in The Impetuous Afflictions of Jonathan Wolfe.
I loved where this book left off and their plans for their future together, it just felt so perfect for them. I know they'll still face all kinds of issues together but I'm so glad they have each other and are happy.

review: not as good as her thirds series. This book has a couple of compromised agent, where the compromising was supposed to have fatal consequences. the mission they are on will bring them in contact with the person responsible for blowing their cover. they have a short past together and don't get along well to start with but fall in love relatively quickly. the secondary characters bring a lot of fun to what would othetwise be a dark read.

The storyline is good with a lost dog and grieving brother. But the writing is pretty basic with too much fluff and sugar. There is instalove and the MCs are always soo emotional and crying in almost every chapter ! Not my cup of tea, but okay for someone who loves fluff. The characters and conversations are all stereotypical with good guys and bad guys. Finished this book because I chose it for a challenge.

Going to read another (hopefully a better) book for this task.

This was a fun read! A crazy combo of all sorts of cats and dogs shifters. Connor is a bobcat, who is also a Finder and he is onto some poachers hunting bears. Meanwhile he 'finds' Brock, a wolf shifter, who turns out to be his mate. And there are fun and action times ahead.
Recommended quirky shiter series.

Review: I think this was a descent start to the series but it didn't completely blow me away. I will more than likely give the next book a chance though as I do enjoy other series by this author.

Great 😊
Enjoy your weekend Jey!
