J.R. Vaineo One of the things I love about Fallen Desire--and Fallen Love--are the characters. They have that real-world authenticity of being flawed human beings and, yes, flawed witches and demons. They make mistakes, but find ways to correct them, though not always in an expected way. The unpredictability of this book is great!

If I had to name a single-most favorite part of the book, aside from Mark and Conall's interactions, it would be the part where the demons have a duel on a frozen lake. This was such a fantastic scene, and really showcased Mark's abilities. I'm a bit curious what inspired Alex to pick the locale that he did, for the demons' duel.

If you've read the book, what parts interested you most? Which characters are unforgettable?

Hey Julie, so cool of you to post this! It’s really interesting to hear your perspective as a reader.

You asked about what inspired me to write the frozen lake scene the way I did, and the answer is simple: I love irony, just like the Devil. I thought that having Lucifer freeze the lake played nicely on the age-old pun (“When Hell freezes over”). It also shows Lucifer’s contempt for the laws of nature, which bind lesser men.

J.R. Vaineo It definitely added a nice, unexpected twist. :)
