The Tell All (Locust Point Mystery # 1) by Libby Howard The Tell All

Life at sixty isn't quite what Kay Carrera expected. She's working as a skip-tracer for a PI who is desperate to land his own reality TV show. She has a new roommate who arrived with more than the usual amount of baggage. And her attempts at knitting are less than stellar – way less than stellar. Worse, the cataract surgery that restored her sight has also delivered an unexpected and disturbing side-effect.
Kay sees ghosts. And when the dead turn to her for help, she just can't say no.

Shelly | 106 comments March 3, 2021 I finished reading The Tell-All this afternoon. This was my first time reading a Libby Howard book. I really enjoyed it.

March 25, 2021 I read book 2 in the Locust Point Series Junkyard Man by Libby Howard and I will be getting the remaining books in this series!

I loved the book! Although I was disappointed that Kay's seeing ghosts wasn't made clear. I thought it was very different for a cozy, with the murder not happening for a while and (view spoiler). I loved that Kay was an older woman, and enjoyed watching her developing a relationship with her renter and his baggage. Kay's smart and I would want to be friends with her in real life,

Meg (makeli2) | 1535 comments I've read this, as well, and while I enjoyed it, the tendency towards repetition took away from that enjoyment. The murder happening midway through the book was good and bad; good because it gave time to get to know the characters, and bad because the climax then seemed somewhat rushed. I do want to try the next one, though, as I liked Kay, and, despite the above misgivings, I liked the writing style.

Patricia Espejo | 9 comments This was enjoyable to read. I love the character, Kay. It was nice reading about the characters before a murder happened. I am a bit unsure about her being able to see ghosts. That is usually something I do not enjoy reading. It will be interesting to see how the storyline with Judge Beck and his kids turns out.

I enjoyed this mystery - first in a new-to-me series. It's well-written with characters I like. The judge and his teenagers as boarders makes it a multigenerational household. The paranormal element is never stated beyond vague shadows though the book blurb makes it seem more prominent.
